"One week until our exam!"

"Shut up!" Jiyong was immediately silenced by the seducer who was furiously writing away in her notebook.

This side of Hyori was very rare to see. Exams wasn't her favourite thing in the world but she knew the importance of them, especially this upcoming one.

When exam season nears, that's when she focuses on studying and not so much on her appearance.

"It's so weird to see you in those nerdy glasses-" if it weren't for his trained quick reflexes, the chair would have hit him square in the face.

You were also studying for the exams, finding them nerve wracking just by thinking about them.

Since the country got a new President for the hero council 2 years ago, all the examination methods were scrapped and new, more difficult ones were made. Which had meant it was harder to become a hero for everyone.

"Hey guys. Sorry I'm late, there was a villain attack by my train station" Sehun greeted everyone before grabbing a chair and sitting with everyone.

It was the weekend and you suggested that since the exam was around the corner, the group should have a study session together and everyone agreed to meet up at a cafe near the hero academy.

"It's okay, we haven't started much really" Taemin reassured the younger while gesturing to the bickering duo.

"Right, let's get started-"

"Wait, Jay isn't here yet" you interrupted before looking through the glass windows for the blonde male.

After landing one more punch on the fire breather, Hyori looked back at you with a disgusted look.

"Why would that weirdo be here? Don't tell me, you invited him?"

"But this is group study? Why wouldn't I invite him?" You didn't understand what was wrong with what you did and you looked around at the others to see if they were as confused as you were.

"...you could have told us you were inviting him" Sehun spoke after getting his books out of his school bag.

Surprised to hear that come from Sehun, you looked at the other 2 to see if they agreed.

"No offence Y/N, but I don't understand why you're even friends with him" Jiyong stated bluntly while rubbing his sore face. Wanting to see how Taemin would react, you looked at him with a hopeful expression.

"...I don't think he's comfortable around us. There's something about him that doesn't agree with me" raising your brows, you looked around at the table, disappointed that they would even talk about Jay like that.

"I don't understand where this is coming from guys. How is he weird? Why can't I be his friend? Why does he worry you?" You suddenly felt a hand on your shoulder, making you look at a no make-up Hyori.

"Do you remember that time when I stole your umbrella because it was raining and I didn't have mine? He came running over to me, thinking it was you and then he started shouting at me that I was using your umbrella and he took it off me! He let a beautiful girl like me get drenched in the rain!" she complained with all her energy.

"...you do realise that you're in the wrong here by stealing my umbrella?"

"Do you remember when the teacher assigned us to clean the training ground for the whole week but I couldn't help because I got food poisoning?" You nodded, vaguely remembering that Jiyong didn't turn up to school for a few days.

"Jay gave me a protein shake on the day they assigned us and the nurse told me that the milk was out of date! And then he volunteered to take over my place!" He exclaimed before grimacing over the memory of not leaving the toilet for the whole week.

"He just wanted to be nice and give you his drink, what's wrong with that?" The others rolled your eyes at your obliviousness before listening to what Sehun had to say.

"Everytime you complimented about my fashion style, he always would buy it and then wear it the next day. Isn't that weird?" He asked, hoping that you would catch on to what everyone was trying to get across.

"You two have similar fashion senses, it's not rare to have the same clothes as someone" everyone else groaned in annoyance, seeing that their reasoning wasn't affecting you at all.

"...he keeps glaring at me, especially when I'm around you" Taemin added, making the others nod in agreement as they were witnesses to these glares.

"Look, guys. You have to be understanding that he came to our school, knowing no one, probably scared and you guys aren't helping him. He wants to be a hero! Isn't that all you need to hear to believe that he's a good guy?" The group looked at each other, not really agreeing with what you were saying and looked unsure on how to respond back.

"...I get it. You guys are clearly still children and don't want be mature about this" you said while clearing your stuff away and in to your bag.

"Y/N, we didn't mean it like-"

"Save it, Sehun. You should be the one to understand him the most since you joined later than everyone else. We accepted you and invited you to stay with us so you wouldn't be alone- heck, even Hyori accepted you in! But since Jay respects you and just wanted to wear the same clothes as you, you immediately alienate him?" The dark haired male could only look away in guilt, thinking that perhaps he did misjudge Jay.

"...I'll see you guys next week on exam day" and with that, you stood up with your belongings and made your way out of the quaint cafe.

The group couldn't bring themselves to stop you, seeing that they had screwed up in trying to warn you about Jay.

A few tables away, a masked boy pulled down the newspaper slightly that he was pretending to read and watched you walk past through the windows. Turning his attention back at the group of friends, his eyes hardened at the sight of them before letting his anger out on the newspaper by scrunching it up.
