"You are the cause of my Euphoria"
- BTS
_______________________________________"No way! No wonder you were such a great dancer on Monday"
"I'm not that great, I just did it as a hobby really..." Jimin explained bashfully while scratching the back of his neck.
"Competing in the nationals is not a hobby! Woah, it's like I'm seeing a whole other side of you" you complimented, genuinely impressed at his achievements.
Since the lantern show was starting at 6pm, the two of you decided to go around the huge pond that was located near the back of the park.
Around this time of year, the birds would be flying back after getting away from the winter cold and since spring was tomorrow, some had already gathered at the pond and are preparing for the year ahead of them.
It was already 5pm and the sun was already starting to set slowly, making the fairy lights that were attached to the trees turn on and illuminate the area in various colours.
"My dad wanted me to focus on my studies but because my mother did ballet, he gave me permission to attend a dance school in my spare time... he said I looked so much like my mother, especially when I danced" you watched as he smiled at the fond memory.
Returning your attention forward, you looked at the pond that was reflecting the lights coming from the trees, making it look magical while a family of geese swam by.
"You looked really happy when you were dancing... why did you stop competing?" You asked, hoping that it wasn't too personal for the younger to answer.
"... my father became ill so I decided to stay with him after coming back from a competition in Germany" he suddenly chuckled before continuing on.
"I remember how angry he was that I had dropped out of the competition to go see him..." looking back at Jimin who was sitting beside you on the wooden park bench, you had gathered that he had loved his father and had missed him greatly.
"...my dad always told me, that even when you're alone, someone is there for you. When you're singing alone, someone is humming along to your melody. When you're dancing alone, someone is tapping their foot along to your rhythm... I didn't understand him back then but once I left them to go to the hero academy, that's when I knew that even if I was alone in a new environment, my parents were there with me in spirit" the pink haired hero listened intently, enticed by the reassurance in your voice.
"...why did you stop trying to become a hero?" Jimin wasn't the first one to ask this, nor was he going to be the last. You hated this question, it reminded you of Jay and after three years you still couldn't move on.
"I'll only hold everyone back. It's better that I'm not a hero" confused on what you had meant, the lightning user was about to ask further until you stood up.
"Come on, we're going to be late for the lantern show" walking off ahead, you stuffed your hands in your cardigan pockets to try and warm them up.
Jimin's eyes followed you and soon after, so did his legs. He didn't know why but he wanted to know more about you, about the person who had faith in him and helped him when he needed it the most.
However, he didn't have time to get to know you more. He had other, more important things to be dealing with.
But hopefully after dealing with it, he can finally have time to do so.
"Jin said that the lanterns are going to be by the fountain" Jimin reminded you after joining your side.
"No camp fire this year?" You remembered that after the lantern show last year, they had camp fires around the park where people can sit around with their marshmallows on sticks and enjoy the warmth.
"They had to reallocate the funds for something else instead"
"Something else? Like what?" You asked curiously.
"Secret~" he teased before you playfully pushed him away.
"Tsk, of course you would say that. All that's left of the festival is the Azalea flower to bloom tomorrow" you stated while crossing your arms, walking past the maze and not being so far from the fountain now.
"Well we have special guests hosting the whole thing" quirking your brow at the other, you tried to think of who the special guests could be.
The CEO of Eros was always the one to host it in the past years, but you guessed this year was different.
"Hmm... fine don't tell me. I have Myunghee to ask anyway" you answered smugly while sending a wink his way.
"Too bad for you, not even Myunghee knows"
"Then how does a new recruit know and not his trainer?" Instead of answering back, he placed his thumb and index finger on his mouth and pretended to zip it shut.
"I see how it is, nothing but secrets when Eros is involved" you responded, annoyed at the fact that you were going to be curious until tomorrow.
While Jimin was chuckling at your sulky face, your eyes caught a certain duo handing out lanterns to everyone. You stopped walking, not knowing whether you were ready to face Jungkook yet or if you wanted to confront him.
The Eros hero also stopped after noticing your absence. Before he could ask what was wrong, he noticed you staring intently at something which made him flow your gaze towards where the two Zeus heroes were.
He then remembered what Jungkook did at the end of the treasure hunt and especially your words answering his confession.
He had been so busy these past few days that he had yet to ask Hoseok what had went down after wards since Jimin knew that the lucky hero would find out one way or another.
But looking at your expression, he had guessed it didn't go so well as he had thought it would.
"...What's the hold up? Did Namjoon freeze your legs?" He joked to lighten the mood up a little.
"Hm? Oh, no... err, can we go a different way?"
"What do you mean? We're already here" as soon as he said that, a pair of eyes that belonged to a certain copy hero landed on your silhouette.
Before he could say or do anything, his eyes drifted to the left to see Jimin standing beside you.
"Hey, Kook! Y/N is over there- we can apologise now" Taehyung interjected once he noticed your familiar blue dress from this morning.
"...I don't think she wants to see us right now" the brunette muttered after watching you walk off with Jimin in the other direction.
"Maybe tomorrow we'll have a better chance- here's your lantern, ma'am!" The blue haired hero said before handing over a red lantern to an impatient woman.
Feeling less hopeful than his friend, Jungkook didn't want to wait until tomorrow as he felt he had owed it to you to apologise as soon as possible.
