"So how was last night?" Mason said as he stormed into the bedroom.

I looked up at him confused.

"What do you mean?" I asked as I tied my shoelaces and proceeded on pulling my hair into a high ponytail.

"It was Friday last night." Mason told me and I nodded still unsure of what he meant.

"I know and its Saturday morning right now." I said sarcastically.

"Where are you going?" Mason asked me.

"I'm going for a run, alone." I told him.

"This early, you're going right now?" Mason asked me confused.

I grabbed my water bottle and looked at him.

"You know I always try to wake up early whenever I'm going for a run." I told him.

"Well I just expected that you would sleep in given the fact that you were out late last night." Mason told me.

I tensed and looked at him shocked.

"How do you know about that?" I asked him.

"I may be a guy Alice but that doesn't really imply that I'm stupid or blind to not notice that my little sister is sneaking out in the middle of the night." Mason told me.

"I just go out for a walk in the forest all nights; I really don't see what's wrong with that Mason." I told him as I tried to play it off.

"By doing those midnight walks, is that how you managed to get a hickey in your neck?" Mason asked me.

I gave a groan.

"I already told you Mason that I burn myself by accident with the flat-iron." I told him.

"You know something Alice? I simply don't believe you because to begin with you never flat-iron your hair and even if you did it's impossible to burn yourself with it due to the design of the flat-iron, now if you would've told me that you had burn yourself with the curling-iron I'd believe you given the fact that it wouldn't be the first time you had done that but nevertheless Alice I know a hickey when I see one so stop lying to me." Mason said as he glared at me.

"You knew?" I asked.

"From the very beginning and I also gave it a thought. You were going to break up with Peter so you wouldn't let things go so far between you two, and I notice that Ryder has been very jolly the last couple of days, his odd behavior is the one of a vampire who is finally together with its soul mate." Mason said as he looked at me.

"We're not really together." I said interrupting him.

"Look Alice all I have to tell you is to be careful, just because Ryder is your soul mate it doesn't mean that you have to rush things between you two and do something, you're not ready for." Mason told me.

I stared at him shocked.

"That's it? But Mason when I told you that I was dating Peter you almost went to kill him, why not try to do the same thing to Ryder?" I asked him confused.

"Do I need to remind you Alice who Ryder is? He's Naomi's older brother who is my soul mate in case you have forgotten, why act like an irrational jealous older brother when Ryder hasn't?" Mason told me.

I smiled at him.

"I really do appreciate that Mason." I told him.

"Well it was all I could really do which is why I told dad about you and Ryder." Mason said before he stormed out of the bedroom.
