"You know in a couple of days it will be your birthday." William said breaking me free from my deep thoughts.

I placed back the large crystal musical snowball I had been absently staring at, I placed it back on the table and raised my gaze blankly staring at William curiously.

He currently sat on his favorite chair reading a book, the fire slowly cracking, and the windows frosted due to the cold blizzard outside.

"And how is that not irrelevant?" I asked in a bored tone.

"I was wondering that maybe you would like to celebrate it, I would hold a ball in your honor." William told me.

I looked down and smiled in amusement.

William nowadays was simply unbelievable just acting as if we weren't enemies at all.

"As much as I would love that dear uncle, I'm afraid I'm not in the mood got celebrating. Especially if the party will mainly consist if bloody awful vampires that follow your every order, to which in my opinion is completely pathetic." I simply replied with the same amount of boredom in my voice.

"You might want to be careful Alice after all, these walls are very thin, and you never know maybe they are hearing you." William said as he looked at me amused.

I gave a scoff.

"Your minions have never fazed me, I'm not afraid of them." I retorted dismissing the entire matter once and for all.

"I'm glad that you aren't, it proves that you aren't stupid enough to show when you are intimidated." William said in a conserved tone trying to not give much away.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise before I simply stared at him blankly.

"I will take that as a compliment, a very tacky one." I said before I grabbed my phone from the table and started to exit the room.

"Where are you going now?" William asked me curiously.

"To your personal training room, I do believe I need to blow off some steam." I said as I stopped walking and simply stared at him.

"I do think that's not wise for you to be wasting your time and energy up now since it's not necessary for you to be training right ow, you have to save your energy especially since you will be needing it for later." William order me and I nearly rolled my eyes at his clearly fake concern.

I gave a sigh, a very tired annoyed one.

"Look let me put it this way dear uncle, I am extremely frustrated to the point that I really want to beat up something or someone. So, do you prefer I hit a punching bag or I hit you? It is your choice." I said with a fake sweet smile.

William stared at me for a while before he simply grinned.

"Go knock yourself out Alice." William said in a fake cheerful voice.

"I thought so." I murmured under my breath as I walked away.

"Before I forget Alice, I'm hosting a dinner tonight, and I expect to see you there presentable." William said stopping me as I went by the doorway towards the hall.

I set my jaw in anger.

"Of course, dear uncle, I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world." I said sarcastically before I left the room.

It had been a week and a half since I had walked out on my family, 587 missed calls, 898 messages and 20 voicemails, filled up my phone there unopened afraid that whatever they contained would make me regret it. But I knew that anything that could possibly contain those messages would be certainly powerful enough for me to break my word and go back but honestly that wasn't a choice to begin with.
