"Are you okay?" My dad asked for the fifth time ever since we had arrived.
I gave a sigh and pushed away his hand with the light he had previously used to check if I had some concussion or whatever medical term he had used.
"I'm alright, you have nothing to worry about, and we should be concerned about someone else." I said as I got off the table.
"How is this even possible? We all saw her body Alice; she had no pulse, her skin was ice cold, she was dead." Cassandra informed me, but just like anyone in here she had been clearly taken back especially when I had delivered the news and they had seen it for themselves.
I shook my head not agreeing this wasn't what had really happened.
"You thought she was dead but apparently Kathryn died with vampire blood in her system, she wasn't dead but in the middle of her vampire transition." I told them, this as strange as it seemed it made sense and was more likely to happen.
"So, you're saying that this girl woke up in her grave and dug her way out?" Selene wondered out loud.
I met her gaze and eventually shrugged, even I wasn't sure.
"I know it sounds like madness once you hear it out loud but honestly there is no other logical explanation as to how Kathryn is here now tonight." I told her.
"We need to take her out, to kill her." Justin, the leader of the guard, suddenly said.
I glared at him shocked.
"What, why would you suggest that in the first place; are you out of your bloody mind Justin, I brought her here to take care of her not to kill her!" I said as I glared at him.
"Alice, she was raised by William. We don't know for sure if we can trust her." Justin said in a harsh tone.
"Andrew was also raised by William yet this night he was vital for our mission; he led us to the hideout of several vampires." I told Justin, it just infuriated me that he would jump to a conclusion like this so quickly.
"Yes, but Andrew is sired to you, Kathryn isn't." Eva told me, and she had excellent point.
I looked at her and gave a scoff.
"Don't you think we should at least give her a chance?" I said as I looked at them.
"Alice, do you think it was William who turned her?" Cassandra asked me.
I slowly shook my head.
"I don't know; to be honest with you I don't even know why William took Kathryn when she was a newborn to begin with." I told them.
"There must be a reason for all of this." Eva said but even then, I knew she was just as confused as everyone else in the room was.
"I'll find out soon, I'm going to go speak with her." I told them.
"I don't think it's a good idea." Mathew said trying to stop me.
"You have nothing to worry about; if Kathryn tries to attack me or anything remotely close to that I'll kill her myself." I told them before I stepped out of the room not wanting to hear anything else from them.
I had not mentioned to Eleanor about her sister for one simple reason, I did not want to get her hopes high. I knew that the past months Eleanor had a harsh time and I did not want to tell her that Kathryn was back only to find out later that the hunters had taken her out because she was some mental vampire.
"Alice, stop you can't put yourself at risk like that!" Eva said as she came out of the room to stop me.
I turned around and looked at her.
