I gave a laugh as Kyle screamed excitedly as Ryder carried him playing rocket with him. The door was opened, and I soon went down the stairs only to find my dad standing in the rain-fresh pavement.

"Daddy!" I exclaimed delighted before I rushed to his side throwing my arm around him, crushing my dad in a tight hug.

"Whoa, I've never seen you so happy to see me Alice." My dad said taken back before he hugged me back.

"Well I really missed you." I said with a smile.

"I told you that you shouldn't have gone away for half a year." My dad said and I nearly rolled my eyes at him.

He had been against this since the very beginning after Ryder and I got back on May after leaving for three weeks to Paris, Ryder had planned for us to go back to Mount Vernon on June only to come back on early November. My dad immediately thought it was far too long for us to be gone especially since in this occasion unlike our brief trip to Paris this time we would be taking Kyle who just like everyone else my dad had grew so fond of but at the end I had managed to convinced him.

"You know very well that I needed to take some time off the Academy and all of that, just to fall off into the routine of a somewhat normal nineteen-year-old would do." I said explaining to my dad as he helped me with my bags.

"In that case if you wanted to be a normal teenager you should have just gone to college." My dad said and I gave a small chuckle.

"Dad I don't know if you knew this but the same day I graduated from the Academy as a huntress I also graduated Uni." I confessed to my dad as Kyle stretched out his arms so I could carry him.

"Really, in what area?" My dad asked as Kyle rested his head on my shoulder, he was having some jetlag now.

"Well I focused on business mainly, I've always been a smart cookie when it came to school." I said proudly, I had worked hard for a career, but it had been long forgotten once I had been assigned to the mission and the vampires attacks had started.

"You're smart in general." Ryder objected and I smiled.

"It seems like you had a great time back in Washington." My dad commented as we got to the car.

I nodded in agreement.

"We did, I personally loved seeing some of the friends I made in Mount Vernon especially Kelly and Robert, overall it was nice for once to not have to worry about anything related to vampires and hunters, but putting that aside where's mum?" I asked missing her presence.

"She's at home resting, you can't expect her to be here if only just a week and a half ago she had the baby." My dad said and I nearly squirm in delight, the only reason why I had made Ryder get the tickets for the first week of November and not after his birthday like he had initially planned, my mum had finally given birth to my new sibling.

"It feels like I've been waiting forever for this moment." I said as Ryder smiled at me, if only he knew.

Before when I was a little girl, I used to imagine that Eva was my real mummy and that she would soon marry someone and have a baby, that being a brother or a sister, it honestly didn't matter.

By finding my family I got Mason as a brother and I love him, he was always being very protective and loving but to be honest I had lots and lots of overprotective brothers, clear examples being Beck, Charles, Nicholas and the list was never ending but there was a huge difference on becoming a big sister and for that I was more than thrilled.

"Are you ready to see your new brother?" My dad asked me with a smile.

I nodded.

"I'm ecstatic." I said wanting to be there as soon as possible.
