I hissed as I laid in the ground convinced that I might had broken a bone or two during the fall, I actually considered it a miracle that I was still alive. I slowly got up and immediately winced as I felt a sharp pain on my left shoulder, I looked to my side and found the silver stake halfway there, someone had tried to aim at my heart and clearly had missed.
I took a deep breath before I quickly pulled out the stake nearly screaming as I did so. I carefully got back on my feet and looked around, from here I could perfectly hear how chaotic things were turning out inside the castle, I was more than sure that everything was going to end this evening but I wasn't sure if it would be for the better or worse?
"Alice?" I heard a faint voice that was constantly breaking up through my earpiece.
"Andrew, is that you?" I asked as I heard the buzzing noise increase.
"What happened? Are you alright?" I heard him ask through the earpiece worried.
I gave a small sigh before I spoke.
"I'm perfectly fine." I said lying through my teeth.
"Don't lie to me Alice, I felt very well the pain, were you attacked?" Andrew asked me and I gave a groan, I had completely forgotten about that.
"When this is all over please remind me to break the bond you and I share or at least learn how to block it." I told Andrew as I rolled my eyes at Andrew.
He chuckled at my reaction.
"You know very well that's now how it works, anyway where are you right now?" Andrew asked me and I could hear the fighting in the background.
"I'm outside in the backyard." I admitted as I slowly started to make my way back inside hoping that my wounds would heal up.
"What are you doing outside, I believe you were supposed to be in the third story looking for the scriptures." Andrew told me.
"It's a very long story." I simply replied.
"Judging by the amount of pain I felt you got stabbed and thrown through the window?" Andrew said, his voice nearly sounded amused.
"There was a bomb and I got stabbed." I said correcting him as I finally made my way back inside, I rushed to the second story before I stopped once I realized that Brittany was there on the staircase waiting for me.
"Fancy seeing you here again Alice, I thought you were supposed to be with my father, finally confronting him or have you back away as always like the coward you are?" Brittany said with a chuckle.
I simply rolled my eyes at her.
"This is coming from the woman that has constantly hidden behind her daddy's shadow." I said mocking her back.
Brittany snarled at me and in seconds I witnessed how her eyes became pitch black and the skin beneath them started to crack.
This was definitely something to see yet I knew very well that something was very wrong, no matter how incredibly pissed off she was, this wasn't normal for any vampire in any possible circumstance.
"Alright, that wasn't probably the most brilliant idea." I said before I took a step back in caution and as I did so Brittany launched towards me, but I was fast enough to avoid getting hit by her.
"Alice, run!" Olivia yelled in panic, she was now on top of the staircase and there was a loud commotion following her.
I didn't think twice before I turned around and started to run, as I did so I noticed how the walls around me started to get darker to the point that they were pitch black, soon the darkness started to move first bouncing off the walls before it was clawing at me tearing my flesh, I knew exactly what this was.
