It had been days now, days since the attack on William's castle had happened and now things were falling into a new normal, the Academy was reopened and soon hunters came back and classes kicked off, it wasn't that we were letting our guard down but on the contrary we were preparing for the aftermath of the war; but even now questions started to arise, what was next?
My mum took charge of the Academy, the cities and other places that had been harmed or destroyed by the several attacks were now slowly getting back on their feet, some took advantage of this new found peace to finally continue with their lives, such was the case of Antonio and Emily who had left to Spain where they had unfinished business, but not everything was good for everyone, the war left so many wounds that would take time to heal, but for now we were all taking everything slow, we were waiting.
I gave a small giggle as Kyle grabbed my black fedora hat off my head and placed it on his head only to have half of his head covered, his face included, apparently, he loved being blindfolded by the hat.
"There you are; I've been looking everywhere for you two." Ryder said as he entered the library where Kyle and I currently sat in the rug by the fireplace.
"Dada!" Kyle screamed as he looked up with no success since the hat was still covering his face.
"Hey, what have you done to my little man?" Ryder said as he got closer to us.
I narrowed my eyes at Ryder before Kyle managed to take off the hat and placed it back on my head.
"I've been trying to get him to sleep." I told Ryder as Kyle suddenly became fascinated by how my locket shined in the fire light and started to play with it.
"You do realize that it's past midnight, right?" Ryder said as he sat next us.
I nodded.
"I've noticed but tonight Kyle seems more hyperactive than ever, it must be the full moon." I said before Kyle slowly got closer to me and nested in my arms.
I gave a small sigh in relief as Kyle grew tired, before I noticed that Ryder was staring both at Kyle and me.
"What?" I asked him, meeting his gaze confused.
"Nothing." Ryder said shaking his head before he looked away.
"What is it Ryder?" I asked pressing the matter.
"It's just that Kyle has become our son now, right?" Ryder said.
"He has." I said nodding although I didn't quite now why he was saying this now.
"I just, I sometimes see how happy Kyle makes you." Ryder said and I frowned.
"Babe, I don't see your point." I told him honestly.
"What if Kyle had a brother or a sister, what if we had a baby?" Ryder said and I looked at him shocked.
"A baby, you want us to have a baby?" I said still not believing it.
Ryder looked at me confused.
"Why does this come as such a surprise for you?" Ryder asked me before he saw that Kyle had finally fallen asleep.
"Don't you think it's too soon for us? Aren't we too young to be parents yet?" I asked him as my heart started to slightly speed up due to the nervousness.
"Doll, we are already parents, besides it's not like we are young teenagers, you're twenty-two and I'm already twenty-five; I know we might be a little bit young for it, but we could always try." Ryder told me and I remembered what Naomi had told me once, on how Ryder since the beginning wanted to find his soul mate and have kids, how he had always been a family type of guy underneath that bad boy look of his, how he secretly imagined himself with a wife and lots of kids.
