I gave a groan as I closed the lid and pulled down the lever.
"There, this will stop the power from cutting. We'll be fine from now on." I told the hunters who quickly nodded before they continued to fix everything in the Headquarters.
"Should I even ask how you know how to fix that?" Andrew said as he looked at me.
I smiled at him in amusement.
"I rather you didn't." I told him before I started to walk around supervising that everything was going along well.
"So, do you expect them to be finished soon?" Andrew asked me.
I shook my head.
"No, we'll start little by little for now until the rest of the hunters get here; at the moment I just want them to find anything useful." I told Andrew before I headed over to help.
And so it went for the rest of the day we cleaned and fixed the Headquarters until slowly but sure enough it was in much better conditions; by the time I reached my bedroom I was dead tired, Andrew was staying in some of the guest rooms just as Riley, I entered my bedroom and found Eleanor and Kyle fast asleep in bed.
I smiled at the image before I searched for some of the clothes I had left here the last time and accidently stumbled across my mother's peach vintage ball gown; I felt a knot as I carefully picked up the soft fabric before I placed the dress away. I grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a tank top before I headed to the bathroom, once there I took off my clothes before I stood in front of the mirror with only my undergarments before I started to slowly peel off the bandage Lauren had previously placed to cover my wound but when the bandage came off I gave a gasp; the wound was still open but it had turned into a dark color, most of it already black but what worried me the most was the fact that the wound became thicker now standing out from my skin.
I made my way to the shower and as the water poured down over me, I bit own my lips trying to silence the sobs caused by the sting on my wound.
"Good morning." I said in a soft voice as I sat up from the sofa where I had spent the night.
Eleanor looked around in a haze before her gaze settled down on me.
"At what time did you get into the bedroom?" Eleanor asked as she looked at me a bit confused.
I gave her a small smile and ran my hands through my hair trying to smooth it down.
"Around midnight, by the way I took the liberty to bring some of your clothes from your bedroom, you should probably go take a shower and get ready, and I'll stay to fed and change Kyle." I told Eleanor as I folded the blanket I had used.
Eleanor nodded faintly and got up from the bed.
"For what am I getting ready for?" Eleanor asked me.
I met her gaze and smiled at her.
"Last night I sent a message, the others know we're here, they'll arrive before nightfall." I told Eleanor.
She looked at me a bit scared before she eventually nodded.
After Eleanor left the bedroom, I pulled out my laptop connecting the flash drive and started to search for a specific file, I remembered when I had found those papers in Russia, the same night we found Jerome. I had read the files that contained Kyle's parent's information and learned Kyle's actual name, he had been born being Edward Dunst who in a couple of weeks would be turning a year old.
Finding his name, a bit uncommon I started to search for his last name within the files and came across with a folder that contained lot of files but as I finally stumbled on to the answer of why Kyle or now officially Edward was so wanted by vampires and werewolves I felt my heart drop. I put away my laptop and flash drive before I made my way to the bed where he was starting to wake up.
