"Get down!" I yelled as I got behind the sofa seeking for cover.
"Who is it this time?" Andrew asked as he also searched for a place to cover.
"Rob!" I yelled as he met my gaze.
Rob nodded and quickly handed me a gun.
"Lucas, John, get Eleanor and the baby out of here!" Rob ordered them as the shots increased.
"Do you think it's the vampires?" Andrew asked me.
I shook my head; it was far too soon; it would take hours for those vampires to come back.
"Have you made any enemies recently that I don't know of?" Rob asked me.
I gave a dry laugh.
"I was actually about to ask you the exact same thing." I told him as the bullets hissed thought the room.
"Just had us over the girl Rob, we know she's here." A voice yelled; both Rob and I met each other's gazes.
I would know that voice anywhere given the fact that I had too many bad memories interrelated with that voice.
I slowly stood up despite Andrew's protests.
"Hello Nigel." I said with a smirk.
Nigel looked at me and smiled.
"Alice Wythman, after all these years you still had the courage to come once again to my town." Nigel said in a cocky voice.
I laughed.
"Your town Nigel, but as far as I'm concerned Rob is the one who rules the city not you." I told him with a scoff.
"Don't be mistaken here little girl, I'm the king here!" Nigel roared.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"Why does it always have to be like this with you? I'm tired of your lame speeches, all you do is just go on about how you rule and so on yet even you know that it's a lie." I told him.
Nigel stared at me, his eyes slowly trailing down my body sending shivers down my spine, and they weren't the good kind.
"You have changed a lot Alice, but you're still the same snarky teenager." Nigel said as he slowly got closer to me like a hunter would do with his prey.
I smiled at him.
"Thank you for the lovely compliment." I said as I raised my hand gesturing Andrew and Rob to stop getting near me, no one could never truly know when it came to Nigel.
"Last time I saw you Alice you were a little girl, now you're a woman." Nigel said as his eyes trailed once again down my body, this time slower than before.
I set my jaw and glared at him.
"I'm warning you Nigel." I told him as I balled up my hands to prevent them from shaking.
"That's what you said last time, yet it didn't work, I wonder how much has changed since then." Nigel said infuriating me to the point that it was no longer tolerable.
"To be honest with you, a lot because I'm no longer that little girl." I said before I punched Nigel sending him to the ground.
"You bitch; you're going to pay for this!" Nigel screamed at me.
I turned around and looked at Rob with wide eyes.
"Robert, now do it now!" I yelled at him.
Rob didn't need to be told twice, he quickly got to the wall, broke the safety glass pulling the trigger down, many of them hissed me included as the water which was mixed with vervain fell on us, this was going to get all of us weak but Rob and his gang being human would have the upper hand in this situation. Nigel along with this friend were what I could call out live sworn enemies, Nigel had been our nemesis for years to Rob and me.
