The entire world seemed to be spinning too fast for me and it was soon getting too hard to breathe. I heard Ryder curse before I felt myself being picked up, I heard how Ryder screamed for help, everything seemed so distant and the way darkness was consuming me made me wonder, what was happening to me? The next moments were simple fragments but it was that sharp pain that snapped me back into reality.

I screamed trying to stop the pain when my arms were suddenly restrained.

"Alice stop, don't move!" My dad told me.

"Make it stop!" I cried out; my skin felt as if it was turning into ice.

Suddenly Eva got closer to me, the colors and noised were becoming sharp, just too bright and loud to the point that I didn't know what was fake and what was real.

"Alice, listen to me, there is poison on your wound, and we need to find a way to stop it from getting to your heart." Eva told me.

I nodded weakly even if her voice had sounded as if it was an echo.

"Make sure she can't free herself." A voice said, it was distant, but I was still able to recognize it as Alik's.

I felt my hands being held strongly but telling by the heat wrapping my right hand, I knew that it was Ryder.

Without warning the pain increased to the point that it was no longer tolerable, I screamed thrashing trying to free myself.

"Doll, please stop, it's going to be over soon." Ryder promised me.

The tears rolled down my face freely as I felt how they started to cut where my wound had poorly started to close, I shut my eyes tightly feeling the frenzy hammering my heart was in, it was loud in my ears until it started to decrease.

"Alice?" I heard a voice ask in concern, but I was too numb, I could no longer move.

"We're losing her!" Someone yelled in panic.

The seconds in between my heartbeats increased until there was one weak heartbeat and then nothing, just complete dead silence.

My entire life had questioned my existence and here I was gone within a second, I wondered how different things would've been, could they possibly be just like William had showed me?

As I slowly found myself lost in my thoughts, I heard some distant voices that soon became clear I opened my eyes and found myself in the main hallway of the Academy but it somehow seemed different, things were a bit updated, they seemed old.

"Sophie, what are you doing?" A voice said behind me, I turned around and found a younger version of Sasha and Selene.

I frowned at them confused before I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror that was on the wall. I had an oval shaped face, big brown eyes and curly dark blonde hair. I gave a small gasp in realization; I was my mum when she was younger.

"Sophie?" Selene said as she looked at me expectantly.

I gave a nervous giggle and shook my head in amusement.

"Sorry, I don't even know what I was thinking about to begin with." I said as I got closer to them.

Selene chuckled before they both linked their arms with mine.

"Daydreaming again Sophie, what was it this time?" Selene asked me.

"Nothing that really matters or to be concerned about; just some silly thoughts as always, you know me." I said dismissing the entire subject.

"The Association is still on their meeting; do you want to go and overhear about the next mission?" Eva asked me.

I frowned at her, how many times had she scowled me because I had spied on them during the meetings or had simply been a tad bit curious about the matter? Now I knew that Eva had been just like me.
