I looked around one more time before I signaled the rest that it was clear.
"Let's go everyone; we're in and out without being noticed." Nicholas, our leader in this mission, ordered before we slowly started to head in the building.
"Kind of what my ex-boyfriend, ever noticed anything while we were shagging." Sarah murmured next to me making me laugh.
"Alice." Peter said as he glared at me.
I raised my hands in surrender before I pointed at Sarah.
"She was the one who said it." I replied in my defense.
"Let's go now!" Nicholas ordered from the door before I looked at him apologetically, I was only making the waste time.
I hugged the gun closer to me before I headed inside with the rest. We headed down the dark hallway before I was gestured into a room, everyone in there was set, the mobile control center was up and running.
"Are you all set?" Eva asked through the intercom.
"The hunters are spread covering the perimeter, we got the backup ready and in position." Sarah informed as she placed on the microphone and started to clear the channels so we could have a clear footage of the cameras previously placed.
"Everyone else get in position, you're up next!" Nicholas informed everyone in the room.
I headed towards the exit, but Nicholas stopped me.
"Alice, the gun, hand it over." Nicholas said she he pulled out his hand so I would place the gun there.
I gave a groan but eventually handed over the gun.
"I feel so powerless without it." I complained as I looked at him with pleading eyes although it did not work.
"Good luck Alice." Nicholas told me before he slightly pushed me out of the room.
I gave a long-tired sigh before I fixed the silver headband on the top of my head and smooth out the fabric of my long soft pink dress. I walked down the hallways keeping my steps soft, my head held up high as I fixed the curls that had fallen out of my updo; I had to after all look the part. When I finally reached the double doors, I paused and placed on the silver mask and with a deep breath opened the doors stepping in.
I've always hated this type of fancy parties, they were always filled up with rich snobby people that were only here to boast around how expensive everything they were wearing was, but the only good thing here was the wine.
The minutes went by and I carefully studied everyone in the ballroom, I slipped down the remaining of my white wine from my glass and felt someone tap my shoulder.
"Do you want to dance?" A deep voice said by my ear.
I turned around and stared at the guy in a dark suit and a green mask that covered the top half of his face.
"Thanks, but no thanks." I told him shortly and walked away not before grabbing another glass of wine on my way to make this a little less dreadful.
"Alice, maybe you should slow down on the drinks. We need you to be ready for when the time comes." Sarah told me through the earpiece, as she spoke, I met the gaze of a very handsome guy in a dark suite with a black mask who smiled at me.
"I'll be fine." I replied before I raised my glass with a smile gesturing the guy.
"You're going to get in trouble." Ellen murmured as she passed next to me.
I gave a small laugh before I continued to walk around the room.
"There is a worm at two o' clock; we need all the remaining exits closed." I said in a low voice as I looked around.
