"There's four steps," Stiles explained to the pack as we convened in Scott's dining room. Stiles had a laptop open in front of us where he had taken a few notes. "We get into Eichen, we get into Closed Unit, we get Lydia, we get out." Malia watched him speak, her eyes focused on his lips and eyes.

"We have to do all of this while getting past the orderlies, guards, electric door locks, and a Mountain Ash barrier," I added to remind people of the danger of this mission. Malia frowned when I spoke, and the others blinked as they realized how hard this would be.

"You have a plan for all that?" Malia asked, though she made a point to ask Stiles.

Stiles glanced at me, giving me a small quick smile as he dug into his pocket. He held up a key card. "I stole this last night off an orderly."

"But it's useless," I reminded him.

Stiles nodded like he hated the fact. "Because they reset the codes each night."

"So why did you take it?" Kira wondered, her arms crossed.

"Getting to that," Stiles replied quickly.

"The only way to get Lydia out of Eichen House is to make the key card work again," I explained. I even looked at Malia as I did because I needed her to know that even if she hated me, we were still a pack.

"How do you do that?" Scott asked.

"We're getting to that, okay, just listen," Stiles said, getting excited as he usually did when working a case and developing a scheme. Stiles pulled up a list on his laptop and turned it around so everyone could see it, then he rubbed his hands together excitedly. "I pulled all the history off the keycard. Two weeks ago there was a brownout and the security system rebooted. During a reboot, all of the keycards revert back to a default code. So, if we trigger a reboot-."

"The card goes back to the default code," Liam said, looking at Stiles and me with an impressed smile.

I nodded, smiling back. "And it works again."

"So how do we cause a brownout?"

"That's your part, Kira," I said. "You're gunna draw power from the main line, but only enough to cause a brownout."

"Not a blackout," Stiles reiterated.

"Yeah. If you do that, you send Eichen House into lockdown which would be bad." Kira stared at me with an expression that told me she didn't think she could do it.

"Very, very bad."

I leaned over the map on the table, dragging my finger across the area as I searched. "There's an electrical room behind the reception counter." I tapped it with my finger, and everyone leaned forward to look at the blueprint. Even Malia was looking at me now, but it wasn't nicely. That's okay, though. It was progress. "The main power goes into two breakers that run power to all of Eichen House."

Kira chuckled nervously, shaking her head as I looked at her. "Okay, slight problem. I don't know how to do that."

"That's okay. You have time to practice," Scott told her.

"Let's say all this goes perfectly," Malia said. "How does a brownout get us into the Closed Unit of Eichen?"

Everyone looked around like they hadn't considered that, but I smiled at Stiles because we had. He took in a deep breath and explained quickly, "Okay, the system takes five minutes to reboot. In that five minutes all the alarms will be turned off, and the key card should work."

"Liam, you, Scott, and I get Stiles to the gate of the Closed Unit, but after that he has to go on his own. We can't get past the Mountain Ash barrier," I said, though I had hated this part of the idea. "And while we're gone, all anyone's gunna think is that there was a reboot of the security system caused by the brownout." Everyone stayed silent, and I couldn't tell if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
