I tied the fabric over my eyes, making sure that I couldn't see through no matter which eyes I used. I wanted this to work, and if it was going to work, I had to do it right. Almost instantly I could feel my senses heighten. I knew that Scott was next to me and Deucalion in front, but I could also feel them. Like now for example, as Deucalion was walking away from us. He picked up, presumably, his cane again and faced us.

"Normal humans use echolocation by creating sounds, like clicking the tongue against the roof of the mouth." What he was saying made sense, but then again, I'd never met a human who clicked their tongue like that to figure out where they were. "Since your hearing is a hundred, two hundred times more powerful, you can pick up natural reflected sounds." He slapped his cane against the metal again, making me flinch at the intensity of the sound.

"I definitely heard that," Scott quipped.

"But does it tell you where I am? Don't listen for me, listen for the echo, for the sound reflections. Use it to find me." His cane whipped the container again. As the sound floated through the enclosed area, I noticed there was one place where it was coming back faster at a higher frequency. I assumed that's where Deucalion was, so I turned to face him. At least I hoped I was.

"Good, Y/N. You both have superior hearing. You need to focus it like a weapon." He slapped it again.

"Come on. I think he's walking away," I said. Behind me, Scott followed the sound with me. The second clang told me Scott had run into the container. I laughed at him, "Nice going, moron." He grumbled at me sourly.

Deucalion sent out another wave of sound when Scott caught up with me. "Find me." Wave after wave of pitches and frequencies made it easier to tune in on his location. Because of the sounds, I was able to tell where everything else was too. It was like I had a blueprint of this place behind my eyelids.

The air opened, as did the sounds, so I could tell we'd moved out of the container maze and into the open area. I followed his voice and walked into what seemed like a building but was too breezy to be enclosed.

As I did, Deucalion slapped my shins with his stick, sending me toppling forward. Another slap meant he'd knocked down Scott too. I groaned in frustration and pulled my blindfold off. "How dead are we now?"

"Quite."

"Peachy," I mumbled, getting to my feet. We were in the same place Argent had been selling his weapons at. I didn't realize it was so close to the shipping containers.

"Put your blinds back on." I did as told without complaining, then I felt Deucalion position us back to back. "In humans, thermoception is done mainly through the skin. You have temperature receptors that pick up the changes in heats and cold. The eyes of werewolves and werecats are particularly effective at picking up heat."

"Well, what do we do without our eyes?" Scott asked.

"Focus on your skin, the minute temperature changes. Now, turn to face each other." I turned, feeling exactly where Scott was. At first, I was confused on why I could do this so quickly, but them I remembered being in this position a lot—blindfolded. Stiles liked to blind me during sex sometimes, and it was definitely coming in handy now. Not that I would tell anyone that. "Y/N, try to hit Scott."

"Seriously?" I asked, not wanting to hurt him.

Deucalion disliked my response and let me know through his harsh tone. "Yes, seriously. You came here to learn to fight. Kick his ass."

"Um..." Scott said uncomfortably.

I inhaled deeply. "Sorry, Scotty." Rearing my fist back, I punched him in the gut. I obviously didn't go full force, but my half-force was still pretty forceful... Scott hunched over, groaning in pain. I clasped my hands together and brought them down on his back at the top of his spine. He grunted, falling to the ground. "I love you, Scott. I'm sorry."
