We were at the station in record time, hoping that we would get there in time to save Alex if he wasn't already gone. We bypassed the front desk without much explanation, but it's not like they weren't used to it anyway. However, one of the deputies did follow us into the holding room where Sheriff said Alex locked himself in.

The cell was open and free of any person at all, but the room itself remained untouched. It wasn't possible. "Where's Alex? What happened to him?" I asked.

"Who's Alex?" Deputy Clark asked, confusion written in her features.

"The kid from the car wreck whose parents went missing last night?" Stiles said.

"Who?"

Stiles tried to jog her memory again, but nothing he said worked. How was it possible that someone could just be completely wiped? The thought that something like that could happen to a person scared me. I didn't want to be forgotten.

"Where's Sheriff?" I asked.

"He got called out to the high school. They found a body. No one's been in lock-up all day." Clark handed Stiles the sign in sheet for the lock-up, letting Stiles check for himself as she left. I looked over his shoulder at it. Every page was blank even though I knew Alex's name should've been there. It wasn't possible.

"They took him," Stiles whispered.

"I shouldn't have left him alone," Scott said.

"He knew they were coming for him." I rubbed my temples, feeling guilty for not saving Alex. He basically gave us everything we needed to know and we just didn't get it. Didn't that technically make it our fault?

"What if they're coming back for everyone else who was on that road?" Scott's words struck a panic in my chest. Liam and Hayden were on that road, which meant they would be next.

"Okay, back to the school. Now, go! Let's go!" I yelled over my shoulder, already hauling ass to the jeep. I didn't drive, which was probably a smart thing because I wouldn't have gone at a pace that the poor jeep could take.

The school, unlike before, was now flooded with people. Most were from the lacrosse team or deputies, others might have been some stragglers from the library out to see the action. Scott went to check the Quad while Stiles and I checked inside for them and Sheriff.

Mason was the first one we saw, and we ran to him a little too quickly. "Where's Liam and Hayden?" I demanded, then the two rounded the corner. I breathed a sigh of relief as I pulled them both into my arms, kissing Liam's head. "Oh, god. You're okay. Good."

"Yeah, w-we're fine. Y/N, are you okay?" Liam stuttered when I pulled back, standing next to Stiles. The three of them eyed him oddly, but I wrote it off.

"You two, you need to listen to me right now. Alex is gone, just like his parents, okay? The Ghost Riders took him," Stiles fired out, his words almost slurring together with how fast he was talking.

"Right, so you two can't be alone," I said, giving them my best alpha voice. "You need to stick with me, Scott, or Stiles, okay?"

Liam nodded, but their eyes were all trained on Stiles, and he huffed at them. "Why the hell are you looking at me like that?"

Hayden leaned over to whisper in Liam's ear, "Do we even know him?"

"I don't even know if he goes here," Liam replied just as quietly.

"Do you go to this school?" Mason asked Stiles politely.

"Guys, come on. It's Stiles," I laughed nervously, seeing Stiles' face drop.
