Even though it was a very short ride to the school since there were cops around to bust us for speeding or driving off-road, I still never stopped holding Stiles' hand. It proved to me that he was real, that he was here. I half expected to open my eyes and he would be gone again.
I didn't even let go as we were walking down the tracks outside of the school, though Stiles didn't seem to mind. "How the hell do you 'merge worlds'? Okay, nowhere in the manual does it say werewolves can do that. And Y/N, Scott, and I pretty much wrote the manual."
"We can't even move between them, alright?" Scott said. All of us were hoping Liam had some kind of answer or explanation, but I wondered if we were putting too much pressure on him. "I mean, look what it took to break you out."
I turned around when Liam stopped walking, his brows furrowed in contemplation. "We can't move between worlds. But Corey can. He can exist in both worlds."
"And he can take people with him. Liam, you are so smart." I pressed a quick kiss to his head. I was feeling lovey since Stiles was back, and that wasn't going to stop just because Liam blushed like I was his mom or something.
He cleared his throat, the red fading from his cheeks. "At Scott's house, he pulled a Ghost Rider into our world."
"And at the lacrosse game, he brought us into theirs," Scott added.
"What if that's how Douglas is doing it?" I said. "What if Corey is the key?"
Stiles frowned, squeezing my hand. "Interesting theory, babe. Solid logic. It is, but he's in there and we're out here. So the only way to save everyone now is to just divert the train."
"No, we have to get Corey," Liam said.
"How?"
Liam inhaled deeply, shooting me a quick glance. Whatever he was about to say was something I knew I wouldn't like at all. "I'm going into the Hunt."
"No," I said instantly then started laughing nervously. "No, no, Liam, see I think you're confused. We're trying to get people out of the Hunt. Not put you in it." Liam's eyes lowered to the ground, but it didn't register with me that he was actually just looking at something.
"He can get taken by the Ghost Riders," Stiles offered. "It's just...not a pleasant option. I'm just speaking from experience."
Ignoring what either of us had to say, Liam grinned like he'd figured something out that we didn't. "I don't need to get taken to get into the Hunt."
"Okay, it seems like you got an idea, so let's discu-." Liam ran off right in the middle of Stiles' words, not giving us any indication of where he was going or how he was getting into the Hunt. "Where are you going?!"
"I'll be back!" Liam yelled, on his way inside the school. I shouted a 'be careful' at him that I wasn't sure if he heard. If he got killed, I was going to revive his ass then kill him myself.
"Were we like that?" Stiles asked.
Scott and I shared a look before answering together, "Worse."
"So we just have to follow the tracks?" Scott asked.
"Yeah, well. Those lead into the woods. This way back into the school." Stiles gestured in both directions, but none of us knew which way would be the correct way.
"Should we split up?" I asked.
Instantly, Stiles answered, "Never again."
"Thank god," Scott muttered, which I agreed with. Together, the three of us chose to walk in the direction of the woods. We followed the tracks, keeping and ear out for anything suspicious. I never once let go of Stiles' hand, and he didn't want me to. We were together again after months and it felt so good to have him by my side where he belonged.
