Brett's eyes dropped closed, but I could hear his heartbeat and feel his blood running under my touch. I used it to monitor him, but forcing him to keep his eyes open was draining his energy. I wasn't sure how long it would take Liam and Scott to find us, and Brett needed to save up.

A few minutes later, when his blood pressure dropped even further, his head dropped onto my shoulder. I muttered a curse word, unsure of how to keep him alive. Instead of trying to wake him up, I stared at a divot in the opposite wall, focusing my energy on sending psychic signals to Liam and Scott. Maybe Liam would be able to find us like I was able to find him.

Liam found us in three minutes, him and Lori rounding the corner. Lori called Brett's name, which made his eyes open and he sat up as she knelt in front of him. I stood up and looked at Liam.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" he asked frantically.

"No, you complete and total idiot. I'm fine. You shouldn't have come." His face dropped from my harsh tone. "You shouldn't have roared either. It's Gerard Argent, and he's taken a new hunter under his wing."

"I had to come. I had to help you," he defended.

I sighed, relenting to him. "I know. I'm not mad. Just don't roar next time. You gave away your position to him. Use your senses." Liam nodded grumpily, so I rolled my eyes and hugged him tightly. "But thank you for coming anyway."

Brett's surprise to see Liam made me pull away. "Hey, we're gunna get you out of here," Liam said.

I knelt down in front of Brett and Lori. "But first, the plan. When we get you out of here, go straight to the animal clinic, okay? Tell Deaton I sent you. He'll fix you up. But after that, you both need to get out of town as fast as you can, okay? Something big is starting and you won't be safe if you stay here. Understand?" They both nodded, but I shook my head. "Tell me that you understand. You'll leave Beacon Hills."

They glanced at each other, partially concerned by my seriousness and confused by my request. "We understand," Lori said.

"Good. Alright, come on." Lori helped me get Brett to his feet, but he groaned with the pain.

"You're a dumbass for doing this," Brett said to Liam.

"Is that your way of thanking me?"

"No, that's my way of calling you a dumbass. But thanks."

Liam didn't respond, but his eyes widened as he looked behind him. Down the tunnel, a small explosion of light meant to get out attention went off, then sprays of white smoke were wafted into the tunnel. I know it was just a distraction and that there was no one there. Liam didn't know how Gerard played, but I did.

As expected, the next thing to go off was an emitter that hurt my ears. That was meant to split us up, which is why when Liam said he was going to stay and fight, I agreed. He would stay where it was safe and I would get Brett and Lori to shelter, no matter who I had to fight through. Lori took the job of dragged Brett along while I took the lead, keeping an eye out for trip wires and traps set by Argent and Monroe.

"Come on, guys, I know it's hard, but you gotta keep up," I said quietly to the two behind me. There was an emitter lodged in the wall, and I growled, ripping it out of the wall and throwing it on the ground. It broke into pieces and we continued down the tunnel.

The tunnel split off. On one end there was another tunnel, on the other there was a ladder leading upwards. If I was remembering correctly, we were underneath a road in town. It wouldn't be a far run to Deaton. I turned to the two. "Okay, remember. Straight to the clinic then out of town." They nodded at me, so I let them pass to go up the ladder.

Lori went first since she was strong enough to remove the cover, then she held out her hand to help Brett up. I stood below him in case he fell, but I checked my surroundings periodically. Wasn't is weird that we hadn't been shot at yet? Something felt weirdly off.

I shouldn't have let them go up there. I was taking them exactly where Gerard wanted them. "Guys, wait!" I yelled, climbing up as fast as I could. Brett bent to help me up, but I could already see a car's headlights speeding down the road. I jumped up the rest of the way and shoved both of them to the side of the road with enough to force to knock them back to the edge out of any danger. "Run!"

Before I could move, the car pummeled into me, sending me flying backwards. I skidded to a stop on the road, groaning from the numerous broken bones in my body. Brett and Lori stepped out like they were going to help me, but I whispered, "No. Go, now." They still didn't move, so I glowed my eyes and at them and growled. "Go!" With apologetic expressions, they ran off together, going at a slow speed. They would be fine. I dropped my head back to the concrete, my body spiking with pain. It felt like I'd pierced a lung with a broken rib because it was hard to breath.

Liam jumped up from the hole with a feral growl, his eyes glowing at the large truck that ran me down. He stalked to me, helping me sit up. The truck just sat there, shining its brights on us. My body struggled to heal, and I cried out at the pain standing up caused. I was covered in more blood, but this time it was red and my own.

I glanced over to see the backs of Brett and Lori getting further and further away, and I felt my rage skyrocket. I'd never felt rage like this before, and I was willing to bet that it was the effect of having both Liam's and my own anger festering inside me.

I practically trembled with fury the longer we stared at the faceless man in the big black truck. As if on cue, we roared loudly at it, our faces turned animalistic. Another car lurched to a stop next to the truck, their brights on, too, and it momentarily blinded me.

My blood was covering the front of the truck, and a man stepped out of it. I finally realized what the plan had been all along when people started to gather around us like we were zoo animals. More cars pulled up, putting us under the light so all could see our faces. Gerard's plan had never been to kill one of us. It had been to expose us. And that truck driver was hired by Gerard to do that.

With the fear already settling in, this probably didn't help, considering the both of us were still so angry that it was hard to pull back from the animal inside of us. Liam turned around, roaring at the woman sitting in her car. She was so scared that she didn't even blink.

I laced my fingers with Liam, hoping that it would calm us down, but I only got angrier as I realized that people hated us. I pushed Liam towards the grate, and he jumped down into it. I followed in suit, and that one action caused shocked gasps to come from the crowd. We ran until we found Scott and Malia trying to find us. Scott was stumbling and covering his stomach. There was blood squishing between his fingers.

"What happened?" I asked, my face now human. I was under control, but I feared what that whole thing Gerard planned would do to us.

"I'm fine," Scott said.

"Yeah, obviously. Come on. Let's get out of here. I'll take a look when we get home." I didn't want to tell them the mistake I'd made by letting people find out about us, but I knew I'd have to tell them. It was wishful thinking to hope that people would forget about it by tomorrow.

God, if my parents could see what's become of me... I revealed myself to people and now they hated me. My parents were right. The world wasn't ready for the supernatural yet. They would be so disappointed in me. Maybe it was a good thing that they were dead because this would've given them a heart attack.

I worried for myself, but mostly I worried for my pack. Liam was seen, too. He should've stayed down in the tunnels instead of coming up to help me. Now, the heat is on him as well. Scott is fragile. He needed protecting as much as he needed to protect. Malia could handle herself, and Lydia and Stiles would probably hate the negative attention. It was good thing Stiles wasn't here, despite how much I wanted him to hug me and tell me everything was going to be okay. Then there was Melissa and Sheriff. How would this affect them? I could've ruined life in Beacon Hills for everyone because I did something stupid.
