Scott called me and Stiles to meet up after he talked to the chemistry teacher about the glass. Apparently, there was no logical explanation for the glass to be blue if it was merely shattered by a gun, which meant Scott was finally convinced that it was something more.

"39?" Stiles asked as we headed for the door, skipping school early now. Scott sighed, repeating the number of days we were going to miss. Natalie Martin stepped out in front of us with her arms crossed and a harsh glare in her eyes, and I froze. We'd been caught.

She grabbed Scott and Stiles by their shirts and ordered me to walk in front of them back into the school, making sure that we wouldn't leave. "None of you are going anywhere. 38 classes, guys. I had to beg the superintendent to let you two stay."

"Mrs. Martin, Scott and Y/N are the sworn protectors of Beacon Hills," Stiles reasoned.

Natalie let go of them now that we were far enough into the school. "They can protect it at 3:30."

I sighed as we continued walking in the direction of class. When she was out of ear shot, I said, "We're not waiting until 3:30." Scott shook his head with Stiles scoffed with agreement.

--------------------

Hours passed and none of us could catch a break. There was always someone there to stop us from leaving and I was starting to wonder if Natalie had hired a private military to keep us inside. I tapped my pen on the desk of the dark room, a video playing on the projector in the front of the class. Scott was sitting on my right, Stiles to my left, and Lydia was behind Scott.

Stiles sighed and looked over at me after looking at how slow the hands on the clock moved. His thumb tapped quickly against the desk, his knee bouncing restlessly.

"Too bad you don't possess the supernatural ability to control time," I teased.

He sat up excitedly. "Is that a-. That's a thing? That exists?"

"What? No, I was just... It was a joke."

Stiles sat back in his seat, his frown now deeper than it was before. 30 long minutes later when the bell rang, the three of us jumped up, our stuff having been packed long before the class was over and went straight to the address Alex had given Sheriff.

The house was large and quite beautiful. The grey clouds swarming overhead did nothing to diminish the beauty. On the outside, it looked like the house had been well taken care of, nothing like the abandoned look that houses get. There was even a little swing in the yard.

Stiles looked at the house with pursed lips as he sighed through his nose. "That's not creepy at all."

"I think we should buy it," I said seriously. Stiles stared at me, trying to figure out if I was joking or not. I laughed and patted his chest before walking up the stairs to the door. Scott had a flashlight and flicked it on as I walked in.

The inside of the house was very different from the outside. Everything was covered in cobwebs and the paint was peeling. There was no furniture except for the curtains over the large windows, but even those looked like they would turn to dust if you even breathed on it wrong. The table was set for two but looked like it had been done 100 years ago. Every step we took made the floorboards creek.

Scott asked, "You wanna split up?"

"Uh... Absolutely not," Stiles breathed, giving a warning look to Scott that said he better not even think about it. Scott nodded, so we headed up the rickety staircase to the second floor. I kept my hands off the railing since it was absolutely covered in cobwebs.
