"A toast to the groom! And, uh, the other groom, I guess." He said. "From your brother. Who will always be bi your side. And to your union. And the hope that you provide. May you always be satisfied.

Rewind

He remembers the night. The best and worst day of his life. The dreamlike candlelight like a dream that you can't quite place. But he would never forget when he first saw Logan. His intelligent blue and green eyes, and his strong build. His voice made him weak at the knees. He set his heart aflame, every part aflame-

"You strike me as someone who has never been satisfied." He said. Patton fiddled with his stupid tie. Dumb tie.

"I'm sure I don't know what you mean."

"I think that you're like me, you have never been satisfied?" Logan said. It sounded like a question, ready for confirmation. Patton shoved his hands in his pocket.

"Is that right?"

"I have never been satisfied."

"My name's Patton Sky," Patton said, holding out his hands for Logan to shake.

"Logan Kroft." He said, taking Patton's hand and kissing it softly.

"Where's your family from?" Logan looked away nervously.

"That remains unimportant. There's so much I haven't done. But just you wait, just you wait."

So this is what it was like to match wits with somebody, what the hell was the catch, it was the feeling of freedom, of seeing the light, it's Ben Franklin with the key and the kite. Patton saw it. They talked for two minutes, maybe three minutes, everything that they said in total agreement, it's a dream and it's a bit of a dance, a bit of a posture and a bit of a stance. Logan was actually a bit of a flirt, but Patton wanted to give him the chance. But when he asked about his family and he saw his answer, his hands had started fidgeting and he looked askance. Patton internally laughed and thought 'He's penniless, he's flying by the seat of his pants.' After a while of talking, Patton had realized. 'God, he's handsome. And man, did he know it. He's got heterochromia and he's not gonna change it. I want to get him out of this place,' but he turned and saw his brother's face and he was helpless.

And he knew he was helpless.

And his eyes were helpless.

And Patton realized three fundamental truths at the exact same time. But he'll say them separately.

"Where are you taking me?" Logan asked, being led by Patton's hand.

"I'm about to change your life."

"Then, by all means, lead the way."

#1-
He was a man in a world in which his only job was to marry rich because he was the oldest, and the prettiest, and somehow the wittiest. And the gossip in Florida is insidious. And Logan was penniless. But of course, that didn't mean Patton wanted him any less.

"Virgil Sky."

"Sky?"

"He's my brother.

#2
He was only after him because he's a Sky brother, that'd elevate his status, he'd have to have been naive to put that aside, maybe that's why he introduced him to his brother. 'Nice goin' Pat, now he was right, you will never be satisfied'

"Thank you for all your service."

"If it took fighting a war for us to meet it well have been worth it." Patton looked at the two. They seemed happy.

"I guess, I'll just leave you two to it."

#3
He knew his brother more than he knew his own mind, although he was nervous, you'd never find anyone as trusting or as kind. If Patton told him that he loved him, he'd silently resign, he'd be his. But Virgil would say he was fine and he'd be lying.

But when Patton fantasized that night forward, it was Logan's eyes, as he romanticised what would've happened if he hadn't sized him up so quickly. At least he kept his eyes in his life.

Fast Forward

"A toast to the groom! And the other groom in a dress! From your brother!" He said, raising his glass.

"Virgil!" Everyone cheered.

"To your union!"

"To the union"
"To the revolution!"

"And the hope that you provide. May you always be satisfied! And I know you'll be happy as his husband. And I know that you'll be satisfied. You will always be satisfied." Virgil said before sitting down.

Confused? I say we Rewind

After leaving Logan and Virgil alone, Patton made his way to the courtyard. He stood, leaning the gate, not entering, but staring the running white fountain. And occasionally picked flowers and plucked the petals from them. At one point he got bored with that and began weaving white and light blue roses together to make a flower crown. After he placed it on his head he was startled by a familiar voice.

"So this is where you ran off to?" Patton turned to find Logan. Why was that not unsurprising. "I'm not surprised, it's the one place where someone as beautiful as you were can blend in," Logan said. Patton blushed and turned back around. "In all seriousness, I was just about to give up. I actually just came out here to get away from all the noise. I really didn't expect you to be here." Logan walked next to Patton, leaning in the same way that he was. "I like your flower crown. Cute."

"It didn't take that long to make. I've been doing it since I was a kid." Patton said, picking another flower.

"I wasn't talking about the crown. So, why'd you leave me with Virgil?' Logan asked. Patton looked down, nervous.

"Virgil looked into you. I didn't want to hurt him by sticking around." Logan laughed.

"Virgil isn't interested in me-"

"He was staring at you." Logan rolled his eyes.

"No, he wasn't." He tapped Patton's shoulder and pointed to a window, where two men were clearly making out in a bedroom. "He was staring at that male. His name is Roman. He was a teammate. He and Virgil have known each other for a while. Roman wrote to him every day. I read one of them." Logan shuddered. "I really shouldn't have. I didn't need to know anything he put in it. I'm sure you don't want to know." Patton nodded. "Well, I believe Roman is a good person. And he's wealthy. Don't worry about that."

"What do you mean?" Patton asked.

"Patton, I know that you're not stupid. You're quite intelligent, you're just a stronghold of emotions, according to your brother. You know that I have little money. And I'm sure that's a deal-breaker since you are the son of Phillip Sky. But I do think that I really like you. I want to learn more about you--" He took Patton's hands. "-- Patton. Please accept me."

"Of course, I will, Logan." Logan smiled before kissing Patton softly.

"And now I'm satisfied."
