The drawing above is supposed to be a future vision.

TW- This is kind of angst, I think? I don't think it's any worse than like... 'A Kiss.' Sorry!
...
Oh, and, uh, Patton cries.

Word Count- 2094

"Mama! Hurry! I want to go to school!" Patton whined, hopping up and down. He had gotten dressed faster than usual, in a striped t-shirt, pastel short overalls and his tennis shoes. He had brushed his hair, but it always had naturally messy curls. His mama, Eva, smiled, but laughed a bit as she clutched her car keys.

"Since when have you gotten so excited about school on a Monday?" She asked as they left the house. Patton rushed to the car, but couldn't get inside because she had locked it.

"I'm excited to see Logan! We haven't seen each other for 3 days because he was sick!" He said. Evan rolled her eyes as they both got into the car. Patton buckled as quickly as he could and she started driving.

"Is Logan that boy with the different coloured eyes?" She asked. The first day of the first grade, Patton came up to his mother, very excited, and said 'I met a boy today! His eyes are different colours!'

"Mhm! He's my best friend in the whole world!"

When they arrived, Patton almost fell trying to get out of the car. Well, rather, he did fall, but he was fine. He was on the ground when a shadow came over him.

"You should be more careful, Patton." Said a caring, familiar voice. Patton stood up quickly before hugging Logan tightly.

"Logan!" He said before Logan hugged back. "I missed you so much." He said quietly. His mama had driven away already.

"I missed you too, Patton." Logan said before pulling them away. "But we have to get to class." He said. Patton nodded and they walked to class together, hand in hand.

Recess. The best time of the day. But it was raining, so they had recess indoors. Meaning drawing. Lots of drawing. Patton and Logan sat across from each other, by themselves, drawing. Thunder and Lightning. Patton sniffled and shuttered, trying to not let it bother him.

"Patton, it's alright! Everything will be okay! After a storm is when the best rainbows are seen!" Logan said cheerfully. Patton gave a small smile. "Do you want to see my drawing?" He asked, trying to keep Patton calm. Patton nodded and Logan slid his drawing across the table. Patton's eyes filled with stars.

"Logan! It's so cute!" Patton said, before reading it as well as he could. "Lo, you spelled forever wrong." He said. Logan's heard broke. Patton was right, he had spelled it wrong.

"Oh my goodness, you're right! I'm so sorry--"

"Don't worry, Logan, that just makes me love it even more!" He exclaimed, making Logan smile and mending his heart. "Can I keep it?" Patton asked nervously.

"Of course you can, Patton! I made it for you!" Logan exclaimed. Patton smiled before taking out his folder and carefully tucking the paper inside. "I'm glad you like it so much, I worked really hard on it." Patton smiled sweetly.

"I love it so much, Logan! We will be best friends forever!" He said, almost determined to make sure it was true.

That afternoon, when Patton went home, he and his moms put the picture up on his wall.

Where it hung for 7 years. Meaning now they're in eighth grade. It was just a normal weekend, they were in Patton's room, just hanging out.

"I can't believe you keep that on your wall. It's such a dumb drawing." Logan said with a laugh. Patton smiled.
