AU- Human, they're adults, Virgil and Logan are Roommates.
"Okay, I hate to say this, because I hate Logan, but this is like incredible!" Roman exclaimed. Logan was sitting on the couch, with 9, completed Rubik's cubes in front of him on the coffee table. On the couch next to him were a ton of incomplete Rubik's cubes. In his hand was one that was almost complete.
"Done!" He exclaimed, slamming it on the table. He started a new stopwatch and new Rubik's cube.
"This is amazing, Virgil, come look at this." Virgil walked over, looking at the focused male. His hands moved so fast, it was hard to comprehend.
"Damn."
"12 seconds!" Logan exclaimed, slamming the cube on the table. He put his face in his hands.
"What are you trying to do?" Virgil asked.
"Beat my previous record."
"Why--" Before Virgil could finish the word, Patton walked in. "Hey, Pat."
"Hi, Virgil! What are you all doing?" Logan fixed his posture and adjusted his glasses.
"I was just solving these Rubik's cubes." He said. Roman laughed slightly.
"I hate Logan, but it is quite astonishing how quickly he can go." Roman said. Patton picked up one of the scrambled cubes that was on the couch.
"Why do you have so many Rubik's cubes?" He asked, as he started flipping it around.
"I collected them as a child. My mother--"
"Done." Patton said sweetly, holding out the cube to Logan. Logan took it and looked up at Patton with wide eyes. "Oh, so sorry, I cut you off." Patton said, feeling guilty.
"Oh, uh, my mother sent me a box with these in it." He said, looking at the cube. "How did you finish this so quickly?"
"Oh, whenever I was grounded it was all I could do. And I got grounded a lot because I'd bring in stray animals." Patton explained. "And then, I'd just do it for fun! My friends would watch me so often at school that I single-handedly got them banned from Mulligan." Roman gasped.
"That was you!"
"Yeah!"
"I heard that his fastest time was 7.8 seconds!" Roman exclaimed. "I had no idea the Cube Conqueror was you!" Patton nodded enthusiastically.
"But it's been so long since I did it last! Ever since I got into teaching, I kind of left it behind." He said, picking up another cube. The way that he stuck out his tongue slightly and his eyes lit up while he was solving the cube was so enticing to Logan. Adorable and interesting at the same time. And the fact that he was strategic enough to solve a Rubik's cube so quickly... it was so attractive to him.
"God, what the hell is wrong with me!" Logan yelled. Patton was immediately distracted and stopped flipping the sides around.
"What are you talking about, Lo?" Patton asked. Logan hadn't realised that he had said that out loud.
"I... I can't solve a Rubik's cube as fast as you can." He covered. He honestly didn't mind, it encouraged him to be better and he thought it was awesome, not that he would phrase it like that. "I've been practising since I've been 5 years old, I should be able to beat 8 seconds!"
"Oh, Lo, you're so good at so many things." Patton said, sitting very close to Logan. Enough to make him blush.
"Yeah, but you just happen to be better at him at the thing that matters to him." Roman said snarkily.
