"Logan, are you really sure about this?" Roman asked him, walking down the hall of their school. Roman was walking backwards and Logan was walking forward. "I mean, quitting the basketball team, are you really sure?"

"Of course, I'm sure. I despise the team, I much prefer academic teams. Physical activity and exercise, they aren't what I'm best at. I'm in marching band for the exact reason that I don't have to take physical education. I already know an adequate amount regardless." Logan said, as Roman back up into someone, making both of them fall. Logan helped the other up, leaving Roman to himself. "Are you alright?" He asked.

The other boy had curly blonde hair and light brown eyes, wearing circle glasses a blue pullover hoodie with cat nose and whiskers along with ears on it.

"Yeah, I'm okay." The boy laughed. "I fall over all the time!" He said cheerfully he leaned down and picked up his binder and book. "Thanks though. I-I'm Patton! Patton Foster!" He held out his hand and Logan took it, shaking it.

"Logan Smarht. My companion, whom you've run into is Roman Prince." Roman shot up.

"Thanks for the help, Lo." He said sarcastically.

"Don't call me that." Patton giggled.

"Sorry, for running into you, Roman. But I'm glad to meet you. I'm new here, I know nothing about this place. I know that it's Rainbow Quartz High, ironically homophobic. And I know that the mascot is Nellie the Narwhale. And that is it." Roman chuckled and put his hand on Patton's shoulder.

"That's really all you need to know. Hi, I'm popular yet gay. Strange, right?" Roman said. Patton giggled again and Logan was suddenly taken in by Patton's smile and the stars in his eyes. He blushed but hid it well.

"Y-Y--" Logan cleared his throat. "Yes, my brother, Virgil, is his boyfriend. They..." Logan somehow didn't need to resist the urge to gag. Strange. "... love each other."

"Man, Logan didn't gag at the thought of love. That's a first." Roman laughed. Patton looked at Logan, confused.

"Why would you gag at love. Love is great! I love love!" Logan hid his smile. This boy was unrefutable adorable.

"I... I've--"

"Lo, here--"

"Don't call me that."

"--Has never been a fan of love. When he was young, his parents got divorced. Neither of them wanted him, when his mother got custody, she didn't want him. He went through the foster system before being put up for adoption, because no one cared about him. He was adopted by this couple, sweet, lesbian, very much in love, but he's having a hard time connecting with them." Roman said. Patton looked at Logan sympathetically.

"Logan, that's terrible."

"I'm indifferent to my past life," Logan said to Patton, but then he directly moved to Roman. "Roman, I did not ask you to tell my life story to Patton." Roman rolled his eyes and sighed, annoyed.

"I didn't tell him how you had to come out to each of your parents and that's why you were put up for adoption!" He said. Logan sighed a groan.

"You did just now."

"Oh."

"Logan, you're gay?" Patton asked. Logan nervously nodded.

"I was unsure as a child, so I warned from ages 7-12, but after I turned 13 I was 87% sure. As of right now, I am one... hundred percent sure." Logan said, scanning Patton up and down quickly before nervously swallowing.

"That's cool! I'm gay too! I've never had a boyfriend before though." He said, a bit disappointed. "That's okay though! I'm perfectly happy on my own!" Patton said, cheerfully.

"I haven't had a boyfriend either." Logan choked on his words. 'I wish you to be my first and perhaps only,' he thought, but he couldn't get the words out.

"You've never had a boyfriend?" Patton asked.

"Correct."

"You seem too cute for that. How am I to believe that a pretty boy like you has never had a boyfriend?" Patton asked. Roman laughed almost out of control and Logan blushed again, hiding it again.

"I... I'd have to be even mildly attractive for that statement to be true. Therefore, it should be at least moderately easy to comprehend." Logan said. Roman rolled his eyes and laughed again before showing a straight face.

"He's right. Now if someone like me had never had a boyfriend, that'd be a different story indeed." Roman said. Logan blinked at him, unamused.

"Roman, your one and only boyfriend is Virgil." Roman smirked.

"Exactly. Virgil is my one and only, I'll love him until the day we part through death." Roman said dramatically. Logan sighed.

"I'm aware, you spend more time at my house than you do at your own-- you tell him that at least 7 times a day," Logan said, clearly annoyed. Patton giggled.

"I think it's sweet. I could only wish someone would treat me the same. I have to go now. My papa's waiting for me." Patton said, smiling. "I would like to get your number though. You seem interesting." Patton said to Logan.

"That would be nice." He immediately realized what he said when Roman looked at him with wide eyes. "Adequate! That... That would be adequate." He corrected. Patton pouted a bit but wrote his phone number on a piece of paper and handing it to Logan.

"Text me, call me, anything. I look forward to talking to you!" Patton said before walking off.

"So that boy..." Roman started.

"Yes?"

"Cute ri--"

"Yes!" Logan immediately responded.

"What are you waiting for, ask him out before he's gone!" Roman whisper yelled to Logan, motioning to Patton skipping off cheerfully.

"What? You must be kidding--"

"Yo, Patton!" Roman yelled down the mostly empty hall. Patton turned around and smiled at them.

"Yes?"

"Logan would like to ask you something," Roman said, pushing Logan towards Patton.

"What is it, Lo?" Patton asked, walking towards him a bit. Patton's eyes were filled with stars, his smile was wide.

"I... I, y-you... Patton, would you like to join me on a romantic outing?" He asked nervously. Patton smiled wider, somehow. Behind Logan, Roman covered his mouth, trying desperately not to laugh.

"I would love that, Lo! Could we talk about details over the phone? I am so, so sorry, but my dad will get upset if I don't hurry."

"Y-Yeah." Patton hugged Logan with one arm, the other one holding his books.

"I look forward to going on a..." Patton giggled, making Logan smile a bit. "... 'romantic outing' with you." Patton pulled away from Logan seeing his smile. "You're cute when you smile. I-I mean, y-you're cute regardless your smile, b-but you're still really really cute when you smile--Not that I want you to smile all the--"

"You're cute too, Patton." Patton looked down, blushing with a small, shy smile. He giggled nervously before standing on his tip-toes and kissing Logan's cheek.

"Bye Lo!" He yelled as he ran in the other direction.

"Roman?"

"Yeah?"

"I think I'm ready to love."
