"sorry did i wake you" Pidge asked with worry as she turned to shiro who slowly sat up in his bed.

"no, why are you in my room" Shiro mumbled.

"no reason" Pidge replied as she stood by his window looking to the moon.

"you thirsty" Shiro asked as he stood up, glancing to her.

"no, i got called over as a couple hunters return with bad wounds. They took down wild vampires who were children" Pidge frowned and shiro notice tears fall from her eyes as the moonlight shined over her.

"Katie" he whispered in a gentle voice and walked over hugging her from behind.

"we monsters shiro, in the eyes of humans i am a blood sucking monster that should be killed. Even vampire children are not spared from human hate and yet we vampires wouldn't even dare to touch a human child. Why am i alive shiro" She cried and Shiro held her tighter.

"your alive becuase i need you Katie, your not a monster. Your a doctor who saves human even when they kill your kind. Your kind, loving and gentle even towards your enemy, even to me who kills vampires without a thought" Shiro replied back with a frown.

"shiro i am a vampire, why cant you just kill me too" Pidge cried and shiro tensed. He was a vampire hunter and he can kill vampires without thinking but the thought of killing Katie scared him to death. He couldn't kill her, he loved her too much. He knew it the night he didnt kill her and he knew it as she trained to be a doctor just to stay with him in the castle where hunters lived and followed the king orders. She changed her name and looks just to live the life he gave her.

"Katie please never ask me such a thing again" Shiro begged.

"why not, I'm a monster shiro. I'm no different from the vampires that hunt living humans for food. I drink blood, i drink the blood you give me from your own body when i need it. I'm a blood sucker and yet I'm able to live a normal life. I hate it" Pidge hissed and gripped the window edge not wanting to harm shiro by gripping his arms.

"Katie please, your not a monster. You dont kill and you help save others. Your more human then anyone i have ever met and one day you will see it too" Shiro smiled gently and slid his hands over hers. 

"shiro" She whispered unsure.

"please Katie, dont leave me alone" Shiro begged and Katie turned round to face him.

"why did you save me, why do you kill every other vampire but me" Pidge asked with fear. 

"becuase" Shiro started to say but stopped knowing he might lose her forever if he spoke the rest.

"i should return to the medical hall, they might need me" Pidge frowned and passed shiro heading for his door. 

"Katie" Shiro called.

"i wont do anything stupid" Pidge frowned and slapped the door shut behind her. 

"I'm sorry" shiro whispered and turned to the moon. 

Morning came and shiro got dressed in his normal vampire hunter armour and walked the halls ready to grab breakfast. He sat down listening out for any important gossip and for once it wasn't all about the princess. He tensed as he listened to last night guards mention a couple hunters capturing two vampires that the doctor was in charge of experimenting with. Shiro begged for a certain name not to be said he was out of luck as he heard them say 'doctor Gunderson' . Shiro quickly finished eating before rushing towards Pidge small desk by a couple medicals beds next door to the main medical room full of tons of beds with injured hunters laying down. He knocked on the door and was met with an angry pidge.
