He watched as she stood wishing to be someone else as her mother talking about her upcoming wedding. He watched as she wished she wasn't born as a princess while her mother planned everything without asking how she felt. He watched as sadness filled her beautiful eyes. 

He wished he was King.

He wished he was king and save her.

He wished he was king to make her his queen.

He wished he was king to protect her. 

But he was only a knight.

A Knight missing an arm. 

A Knight who would no longer be needed to stay by her side. 

She stood up making him shake away such thoughts. She needed him and he wouldn't be by her side forever. He needed to make each second count and be her hero for a little longer. She turned to him and weakly smiled before waving him over to follow as she reached the door.

"where are you going, we planning your wedding" Queen Colleen yelled to her daughter.

"no, your planning the princess wedding. Not my wedding" She replied with a frown and opened he door before walking out with shiro. 

"you shouldn't talk to your mother like that, she only doing what any mother would do for their child wedding" Shiro replied as they walked.

"would a mother force their child into marriage becuase its better for the kingdom then their child happiness" Katie replied making him look down knowing he couldn't answer. 

"please, lets just enjoy these last days. I really dont want to think of my fate" She replied with a weak smile.

"i hear the new chief has made cookies, why dont you head over to the old tree and i shall grab some" Shiro smiled gently.

"no, i rather come with you. I dont want to be separate anymore then we need" She answered and he nodded before they walked towards the kitchen. 

He knew she was hurting inside just like he was. 

He wanted to hold her tight in his arms promising to never leave her side but they both knew it would only be a lie. 

So they enjoyed the last little moments and stayed beside the other until it was time for bed. 

"shouldn't you be with mum wedding planning" Matt asked with a small smile as he walked over after finishing his own training.

"why dont you ask mum, you see just how much I've had a say in this wedding" Katie hissed making her brother frown.

"sis" Matt sighed but pidge started walking again, shiro giving a small sadden bow to matt before catching up with her. 

"you sure about this" Matt asked his father who stood in the small garden when he was training with his son. 

"its for the best" King Sam sighed.

"for who" Matt snapped before walking away.
