"put her back" Pidge grumbled as she looked up to see Lance walking over with an alien baby in his arms.

"but" Lance frowned.

"we paladins of voltron, not baby takers .. so go back to where you found her and return her before her family panics" Pidge sighed and started typing on her halo.

"I'm going to call her poppy" Lance grinned and stroked the alien child cheek. 

"dont name her, that how you get attached" Pidge whispered yelled in a panic.

"I'm keeping poppy, she is now our second daughter but i love her and kaltenecker equally" Lance replied with a sweet smile.

"oh my god Lance, why do i still volunteer to go on missions with you" Pidge groaned and turned to face him.

"because I'm the best paladin ever and you awesome friend you couldn't live without" Lance spoke with pride and Pidge rolled her eyes.

"we cant kidnap a child Lance, take her home before something happens" Pidge mutter with worry as she looked lance dead in the eyes.

"we are poppy home" Lance huffed back.

"no her real family Lance, the family on this planet that is waiting for her" Pidge frowned and placed a hand on her hand.

"she doesn't have a family, i found her left in a bush on my way back to you. I asked around but no one knew Poppy family nor did anything want her. She die if we leave her here pidgin" Lance pouted and looked back into pidge hazel eyes.

"but we the paladins of voltron, we in the middle of the war and will be putting Poppy in more danger by keeping her" Pidge warned and looked to the child.

"we protect her, i know we will. Lets give her a place to belong and give her a family full of love. Please" Lance pleaded and pidge looked to him before looking back to the baby.

"we bring poppy to the castle but we look for a new home for her, a home where she can grow up with a normal family and life style. A family that will look after her and where she can be a normal alien child" Pidge replied and Lance nodded. 

"thanks" Lance smiled and Pidge just smiled.

"we better head back to Blue, i already hacked the info we needed and I'm sure its not a good idea to stay on this planet much longer" Pidge sighed and the two started walking. 

They walked back to where the blue lion was parked and walked in. Lance sitting in the chair before giving a troubled smile towards pidge who stood behind the pilot chair.

"what" Pidge asked with worry.

"i cant drive while holding Poppy, take her" Lance asked awkwardly and Pidge looked at him with horror.

"you want me to hold a living creature, not a good idea and anyways she seems more happy in your arms" Pidge replied in fear and Lance just chuckled before standing, he remember being the same when his brother first let him hold his nephew.

"Pidge, Poppy gonna love you even more" Lance smiled gently and placed the alien baby in her small arms watching Pidge eyes sparkle as she looked to poppy up close and smiled as she gave a soft smile towards the baby.

"your kinda cute" Pidge mutter with a smile as she looked to poppy who giggled in her arms.

"lets go home" Lance smiled and started flying but be careful to make sure pidge wouldn't fall.  

They soon reached the castle of lions and by the time in the blue lion the knew everyone else would be asleep. Lance stepped of the blue lion with pidge behind him still carrying Poppy in her arms. 

He turned to them and blushed at the image before him. He couldn't help but smile warmly while looking at the soft smile on pidge lips as she looked to Poppy who slept in her arms. He wouldn't lie, he felt warm inside at the sight and wonder of a future with pidge. 

"Lance" Pidge whispered with a sweet smile as she stood before him.

"y-yeah pidgin" Lance stutter with a blush as he must have been staring the whole time she walked down the ramp.

"you ok, your gone red" Pidge asked with worry. 

"oh yeah I'm good, just tired" Lance smiled and rubbed his neck.

"yeah, its been a long day" Pidge smiled and looked to poppy sleeping face.

"lets go to bed, do you want poppy or should i take her. I think we can use an old box to lay her down for the night until we can find a better bed for her in the morning" Lance asked as they started walking.

"i kinda dont want to leave her alone but I'm scared to be alone with her. Can we sleep in your room together just for tonight" Pidge asked with a slight blush on her cheeks. 

"sure pidgin" Lance smiled softly and they reached his room, lance getting an empty box from under the bed and placing blankets in while pidge laid poppy inside. They both sleepily wobble to his bed before cuddling up together and falling asleep once they heard Poppy soft snores.
