Zobeida De Jesus was the 20-year-old sister of Zabdiel, a member of CNCO. She was by no means riding her brother's coattails, already a successful actress in a tv show called 'Shadowhunters'. This firey, headstrong, Latina moves to Ecuador with the...
"Si, mi Vida." The words flowed from Zoe's mouth with ease, smiling widely. Over the past three days, they'd grown even closer. New nicknames joined the rotation, like 'my love' and 'my life'. They were very touchy, to begin with, but now they were constantly glued to one another. Everyone had noticed the shift in their behavior, especially Yenny. "Although, I'm going to miss everyone."
Christopher jutted out his bottom lip, guiding her closer by placing his hand on her lower back. "What if we came back for Holy Week?" He offered, finishing loading their truck. Zoe lit up like a lightbulb, lunging into his arms. "I'll take that as a yes," A giggle left his lips, dragging one from hers. She nodded vigorously, pecking his cheek. "Come on, let's go say goodbye. We have to leave now if we want the rest of the weekend to ourselves."
They were spending New Year's eve and day together along with tomorrow since everyone would get back on January 2nd. It took half an hour to say goodbye to Christopher's entire family seeing as he had to console his mother. He was mostly shocked to realize Yenny was more upset about the fact Zoe was leaving than him.
"Adios, mamá." Zoe hugged Yenny one last time, the older woman making her promise to call weekly. "We will. I'll even make Christopher join me for a FaceTime," She promised, pulling away with sad eyes. Christopher opens the door for Zoe, helping her climb into the passenger seat. He shut the door behind her, walking over to his mother.
"Don't hurt her, Chris." Yenny chastised her son, whispering her order. "She's a part of this family now. Keep it that way," She pinched his cheek, knowing that he wasn't taking her speech personally. Christopher was aware of how much Yenny wanted to keep Zoe in their life and he had no intention of ever changing that.
"I love her, Mamá." Her eyes widened along with her grin, ecstatic that he'd confirmed her suspicions. "She's not going anywhere," Christopher said his final goodbyes, walking over to the drivers' side. She was already in the middle seat with her palm facing up, his hand slipping into hers. "What do you want for dinner, mi amor?" He pulled out onto the road, resting their hands on his knee. Zoe sighed thoughtfully, leaning her head on Christopher's shoulder.
"We can go to Chipotle, mi Vida. You never have to ask," Zoe giggled, sweeping a section of hair off of her shoulder. Christopher joined in, tilting his head to the side so he could kiss her temple while keeping his eyes on the road. "I'm craving some queso right now," He hummed in agreeance, guiding the truck onto the interstate. "Tu madre gave me some recipes to try out and see if I like. Since I'm the one living with five men,"
Christopher grinned, using their locked hands to fiddle with the radio. "Wow, she must want to keep you around if she's giving you our familia recipes." He squeezed her thigh, content with her warm body curled into his. Zoe giggled, moving quickly to peck his cheek. A small amount of scruff brushed against her lips, something she always thought was rather handsome on him. "That makes two of us," He whispered in her ear, hiding a smile.
"I'm not going anywhere," She tucked her legs under her body, reaching for a blanket from the backseat. "Unless Zab kills me, of course." Zoe joked although a part of her wasn't so sure that wasn't what would happen. "Then I'll see you in the afterlife," Christopher didn't speak but instead pulled her so close to him that she was partially on his lap. When she looked at him she was surprised to see his eyebrows drawn together, a forlorn look on his face. "What is it? What's wrong?"
He glanced at her from the corner of his eye, focusing his attention on the next exit. "I don't care if being with you messes up my chances with the band." Christopher discouraged her thoughts from the other day, not having brought it up when he told her he loved her. "Eres el amor de mi Vida, Zobeida." You are the love of my life. Zoe smiled sadly, laying her head in the crook of his neck.
"Well, then I guess we just won't let Zabdiel take it to that point," Zoe assured him, curling a section of his hair around her fingers. Christopher gave her a faulty smile, pecking her on the nose. "I love you more than you know, Christopher." She burrowed into his warmth, smiling sleepily. He brought his arm around her like a second seatbelt, idly playing with her long black hair.
She could feel sleep lingering in her veins, fighting to keep her eyes open. Zoe loved road trips with Christopher so she would take any chance she got to stay awake. "Lay down, mi amor. I'll wake you up when we get to Chipotle," Christopher prompted her to rest, hand sliding up and down her side. "We have a lifetime of car rides together," He shifted so that she would be more comfortable, her hands sliding under his sweatshirt. "Rest. I'm not going anywhere," Zoe sighed, unable to stop her eyes from closing.
"Te amo, amor."
"Te amo, mi Vida."

I'm pretty sure mi familia misses her more than they miss me
