Zobeida De Jesus was the 20-year-old sister of Zabdiel, a member of CNCO. She was by no means riding her brother's coattails, already a successful actress in a tv show called 'Shadowhunters'. This firey, headstrong, Latina moves to Ecuador with the...
Her eyes wandered over the walls of the nursery, taking in the beautiful mural Austin had done. All the furniture had been moved into the room, the only thing missing was clothing and smaller things like pacifiers that they'd be gifted at the baby shower. Yenny had been knitting a blanket and some small articles of clothing for the baby, while the boys and girls had hardly stopped shopping. Whenever they saw something interesting, weird, or adorable it ended up in the nursery.
Zoe and Christopher had no doubts that their little girl was going to be spoiled.
"Amor?" Christopher called from the living room, noticing she'd been gone longer than she was expected to. She waddled down the hallway, a mug of tea in her hands. He smirked at her, chuckling a little. "Were you in the nursery again?" Zoe looked down at her feet, shrugging lightly. Christopher giggled loudly, not moving from his spot on the couch. "I think that's the third time today," She rolled her eyes, knowing he actually wasn't exaggerating.
"Give me a break, I'm excited-oh," She stopped mid-sentence, her coffee mug clattering to the floor. Christopher was out of his seat and over to her in two strides, panicked by her gasp. "What is it? What's wrong?" He started freaking out, even more, when she didn't respond, trying to get her to look at him. "Zobeida, do we need to go to the hospital?" Zoe shook her head from side to side, finally looking up at Christopher with tearful eyes.
"She kicked," Zoe spoke so quietly that he almost didn't hear her. "Christopher, she kicked. She moved," Christopher broke out into a goofily large smile, eyes filling with tears. She grabbed ahold of his hand, gently guiding it to the last place she'd felt their daughter. "I swear I felt it," They waited patiently for several minutes in complete silence before they felt it again.
"Ay, Papa!" Christopher shouted, yanking his hand back in surprise. "Damn, she's gonna be a star on the football team." He gushed, seizing Zoe by her upper arms and squishing her in a hug. She cupped his face in her hands, kissing him with pure happiness. "Oh Dios mío, she can move now!" Zoe giggled, their tears mingling until they weren't sure who's were who's. He stared at her intensely, flickering his gaze down to her stomach. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Mhm. It's time,"

"I do realize that it's your child, but give us a forewarning next time."
Richard grinned, Alyson and Zabdiel right beside him. "Our phones haven't stopped going off for an hour now," Zoe and Christopher gave apologetic glances, his hand glued to her stomach. "Is there a reason he's even more attached than usual?" She giggled, waving for the three of them to come closer. Christopher begrudgingly took his hand away, Zoe replacing it with Richard's since he was the one who asked. "Holy- no way!"
"What? What's wrong?" Zabdiel basically slapped Richard's hand away to replace it with his own. Christopher and Zoe broke out into laughter, Zabdiel furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. Zoe held up one finger, indicating for him to wait. "What am I waiting- woah!" He screamed like a young girl, curling back into himself. Everyone doubled over in laughter, sans Zabdiel. "What was that?" Zabdiel stared in both horror and amazement, not moving a muscle.
"Your niece, egghead!" Zoe managed to get out through giggles, clutching her stomach. Zabdiel had shaved his head yesterday despite everyone telling him not to, thus earning him the nickname 'egghead'. "She's kicking now," Christopher placed his hand back on her stomach, grinning wider each time he felt a small push against his palm. "Christopher, let Aly have a turn." He pouted, once again removing his hand so Alyson could feel the baby kick.
"Deja de hacer pucheros. Nos llevas a todos para ti, amor." Stop pouting. You have us all to yourself, love. She craned her neck, kissing his forehead. He sighed in surrender, wrapping his arms around her but still giving people access to her stomach. Zoe automatically relaxed in his embrace, Zabdiel smiling softly at the interaction. "Ven aca, Zab," Come here. She'd noticed his silence, holding out the hand that wasn't gripping Christopher's in his direction. Zabdiel wandered over, taking her hand. "Are you okay?"
Zabdiel nodded, tearing up a little. "I'm happy for you, pequeña." He kissed the back of her hand, nervously stretching his other hand back to her stomach when Alyson walked away. Zoe smiled, knowing he was going to be an outstanding Uncle to her little girl. Hell, she wasn't even born and she already had him wrapped around her finger. "You make me so proud, you know that?" Now it was Zoe's turn to tear up, standing up from Christopher's lap.
She threw her arms around his torso, her brother instantly doing the same. Christopher beamed at the interaction, Richard and Alyson following suit. "Thank you for that, hermano," Zoe whispered, silently crying into his shirt. Zabdiel and Zoe were both emotional people, everyone knew that. So the sight of them crying on one another wasn't all that surprising. "Te amo, Zab," He squeezed her gently, rubbing the tension that she always carried in her shoulders.
"Yo también te amo," I love you too. Zoe pulled out of her brothers' embrace, pulling him down beside her on the couch. "And I'll always be here for you, even if mamá y papá aren't. Because you're my family," He promised, leaning down so he was at eye level with her stomach. "That goes for you too, Princesa." Christopher kissed Zoe's cheek, the duo sharing one feeling.
