"Do you think he'll like it?"

Zoe twirled one of her rasta-braids around her finger, in love with the feeling of her hair. The girls, minus Madison, as always, were currently at a tiny art studio taking a break. Everyone else was at tonight's venue preparing for the show, but the girls just needed some time to themselves. Plus, Madison had been extra crazy for the past few days, ever since Zabdiel's birthday party. She'd been up each of their asses, especially Erick and Edith's to see if they knew anything.

"Hell yeah, he will." Edith fiddled with one of the strands as they left the studio. Zoe had a ceramic painted elephant in her left hand, a black matte with different colored stripes on it. "It looks great, Zoe," Alyson added, all four girls piling into the back of the uber. "Mhm," Jade nodded, stuffing her face with something from the bag of snacks Zoe carried with her. She was pretty sure the girl was eating chips, but nobody really paid any attention.

Alyson paid the driver when they reached the venue, it was her turn seeing as Zoe paid on the way. Edith and Jade had paid yesterday, they all took turns. The exception was whenever they rode with the boys, they never paid. It was an unspoken rule that the girlfriend of whoever rode in the passenger seat would pay. Christopher, so far, hadn't had to pay. Which also meant Zoe hadn't been able to ride in the front.

The things she'd do for love.

"We're back!" The boys had left the salon after getting their haircuts, so this was their first time seeing each other for several hours. "And we brought food," Zoe had suggested they stopped on the way and got, you guessed it, Chipotle. Three out of five boys were focused on the tv screen before them to notice their presence until Zoe sat the bag of food on the table in front of them. Zabdiel and Christopher had been dancing ridiculously in the corner. "Pendejos," She mumbled, taking her burrito out of the bag.

"Woah," Zabdiel gasped, looking at his sister's hair. The remaining four boys looked up from Fortnite, Zabdiel standing to touch some of her hair. "What did you do?" Zoe's smile slowly left her face, looking down at the ground. Christopher and Erick glared at Zabdiel until he caught onto what he'd said. "Wait, that's not what I meant. It looks good, pequeña," He assured her, Zoe shifting from one foot to the other.

"I just wanted to try something new. But, it doesn't matter. I'll probably take them out tomorrow anyway," Zoe gave a small smile, laughing falsely. Zabdiel didn't get the hint that he'd hurt his siblings' feelings, going back to playing his video game. "I'll be back," She walked down the hallway they'd entered through, walking into Christopher's dressing room. After slipping into the adjoined bathroom, she sat down on the closed toilet lid.

Christopher had followed behind a few minutes after she left, sneaking inside of his own dressing room. He scrunched his face in confusion when he saw that the room was empty. Until, of course, he heard a noise from the bathroom. Christopher approached the door and pressed his ear against the wood, soft sobs coming from the other side. A mixture of sadness and anger rose up in his chest. Sadness, because he hated to see Zoe upset. And anger, because Zabdiel had unintentionally hurt her feelings.

"Amor," He tapped on the door, her cries instantly quieting. She sniffled once, unlocking the doorknob. Christopher pulled the door open and stepped inside, crouching down in front of her. "Oh, Zobeida. You're so beautiful," He tenderly grasped the side of her face, using the pad of his thumb to brush away some of her tears. "Stunning, everything about you." Christopher rests his forehead on hers for just a second before tilting his head up to press a kiss in that same spot. "Your hair looks sexy, Princesa. It really does,"

Zoe choked on a sob, cupping the side of Christopher's face. "I like your new haircut," She giggled, Christopher joining in. "Really, it looks hot. I'm glad you ended up doing the highlights," Christopher hummed in agreement, taking her hand as he stood up off of the ground. He pulled her with him, tugging her into a tight hug. "Although, you know this means I'm gonna want to color your hair in the future, right?" Zoe teased wholeheartedly, running her fingers along his scalp.

"I wouldn't expect anything else, mi amor." Christopher chuckled, pulling them out of the bathroom. Richard and Erick were both waiting on the other side, jumping off of the couch almost instantly. "Are you okay? Zabdiel doesn't know what he's talking about, you look beautiful." Their Dominican friend stepped forward, Erick right beside him. Zoe looked at them both, wondering how Richard wasn't her brother considering he acted like it.

"I'm okay, I think I look hot and that's all that matters." She joked, brushing her hair back dramatically. Christopher grinned, Richard and Erick both chuckling at their friend. "Now, we need to get you three to the stage. Stop worrying about me," Zoe pushed Erick and Richard toward the door, Christopher pulling her back before she could join them. "What's wrong?" The boys stopped once they realized their friends weren't behind them, looking back to see Christopher pull Zoe into a quick kiss.

"Okay, now we can go."
