"I'm going to go grab a drink, do you want anything?"

Zoe stood up from the bench and grasped the handle of Veronica's stroller, Edith getting up to join her. Christopher shook his head no, handing her the credit card in his hand before she could object. They glared at one another for a solid three seconds before she gave in, her shoulders slumping in defeat. He smirked triumphantly at her retreating figure, Zoe pushing her daughter toward a drink stand on the boardwalk.

"Isn't that shirt a little hot for the weather?" Edith questioned smoothly, referring to the quarter-sleeved yellow sweater Zoe was wearing. Miami was sweltering even though it was early spring, and Zoe's self-confidence had forced her into a pair of jeans, sneakers, and a too warm top. "It's like ninety degrees out, Z," She added once Zoe had ordered, the three girls standing off to the side awaiting their order. "Zoe, you're sweating,"

"I'm fine, Edith," She had an edge to her tone, looking up at her friend after a few seconds of silence. "Erick told you didn't he?" Zoe watched Edith's eyes flash with panic, knowing she'd guessed correctly. Sighing with a roll of her eyes, she took the lemonade being handed to her by the man behind the counter. "I can handle it myself, you don't need to worry about me. Now, let's go back before they wander off like last time," Edith grabbed the stroller from Zoe so she could carry her drink, pushing it gently in front of her.

Zoe was silent for the short walk back to the table, a few people obstructing her view of their significant others. Then the group moved, her heart stopping at the sight in front of her. Erick sat in his original seat, glaring at the interaction happening before his very eyes. Christopher stood there with a bright smile on his face, talking animatedly to the girl in front of him. It wouldn't bother Zoe so much if it was a random fan, but the particular female was in fact Christopher's ex-girlfriend, Samantha.

She knew exactly who Samantha was, not necessarily because Christopher had talked about her, he had but not a lot. But mostly because her fans were constantly commenting hateful and degrading things under Zoe's posts and she'd asked Richard. Samantha and Christopher had dated after La Banda, when Zoe was dating David. The girl had cheated numerous times on Christopher over the years, breaking his heart each time until she finally dumped him after gaining a following.

Samantha was pretty, pretty enough that Zoe's self-esteem took another drastic hit. They looked similar, actually, with dark hair and matching eyes. She was thin, thinner than what Zoe had been even before her pregnancy. A radiant smile that held a deciteful undertone if looked at long enough and a seductive look in her eyes that filled Zoe with unease. But the part Zoe hated the most was how Samantha's kept touching Christopher's bicep, leaving her hand there for a few seconds too long.

"Hey, who's this?"

Zoe wanted to thank Edith for saving her from continuing to watch the interaction, everyone's attention turning to the girls. Samantha positioned her body too close to Christopher's as they turned in Edith and Zoe's direction, her hand dangling dangerously beside his. Erick took in the expression on his best friend's face that she hid in a quick second, a look of sorrow filling his eyes. Christopher's smile never left, instead gesturing to the girl beside him.

"This is Samantha. Sam, this is Edith, Zoe, and Veronica," Christopher pointed at each person, Zoe frowning when he didn't explain who they were. Edith clenched her jaw when she noticed it as well, crossing her arms in a protective manner. "I'm sure you already know who Zoe and Veronica are, though. Your fans certainly do, isn't that right?" Samantha's smug look faltered for a fraction of a second, Christopher furrowing his brows in confusion as to why Edith was being so hostile and what she meant. Zoe reached out to touch Edith's arm, subtly shaking her head with widened eyes.

"Chrissy was just telling me about tour, am I supposed to know who you are?" Samantha cocked her head to the side with a false innocent look, a devilish glint in her eyes. Zoe huffed out a sarcastic laugh under her breath, looking down at her feet. Christopher took a step away from his ex, his mouth parted in shock. He'd been telling her exactly who Zoe and Veronica were when they returned, opening his mouth to say just that when Zoe cut him off. "It doesn't matter," Edith, Erick, and Christopher all whipped their head to Zoe in surprise. "I think I'm going to take Ronnie home, she's had a long day."

Zoe grasped the stroller with both hands, a knot forming in her throat as she walked toward the parking lot. Christopher went to speak, Erick grabbing him by the upper arm and pulling him off to the side for a second. Samantha had enough nerve to try and walk up to the boys with a prideful smirk, Edith quickly blocking her path. "Excuse me, you're kind of in my way," Edith chuckled darkly, taking a step forward so she was right in Samatha's face.

"If you keep it up, the thing in your way is going to be six feet of dirt and a casket lid."

"Edith, can you and Erick watch Ronnie? I need to take care of something," Christopher broke into the heated conversation, not paying a lick of attention to his ex. Edith nodded vigorously, now noticing Erick chasing down the boardwalk to stop Zoe. "And as for you," He turned to Samantha, ready to wipe the hope off of her face. "Don't ever disrespect my family like that again," Christopher glared, Samantha taking a step back at the fact he finally stood up to her after all those years. "Now if you'll excuse me, which I couldn't care less if you do, I have to go find the love of my life." Edith flipped off Samantha on their way, jogging backward just to get one last shout in.

"Get fucked, Samantha!"
