Zobeida De Jesus was the 20-year-old sister of Zabdiel, a member of CNCO. She was by no means riding her brother's coattails, already a successful actress in a tv show called 'Shadowhunters'. This firey, headstrong, Latina moves to Ecuador with the...
Zoe hadn't sat down in over twelve straight hours. She was getting the apartment ready for Yenny, Christopher's mom, to stay with them for the next two weeks. Zabdiel had come over when Christopher left to pick her up at the airport just in case Zoe needed any help. It interfered with his sleep, but she was more important. Well, right now she was. They all knew Zoe was a perfectionist and when you paired it with pregnancy hormones, she could run herself off the edge of a cliff with worry.
"You know she loves you, Christopher said she won't stop talking about you." Zabdiel tried desperately to reassure her, watching her run around the room from his seat on the couch. "Zobeida Mariana De Jesus, sit down and chill out." He jabbed a finger in the direction of the rocking chair beside him, Zoe begrudgingly moving to sit down. "Now, do you want anything to drink? You haven't drunk or eaten anything since I've been here,"
She frowned, now realizing her was right and there was a small gnawing sensation in the pit of her stomach. "Si, do we have any strawberry lemonade left? And pickles?" Zabdiel grimaced at the combination but nonetheless brought her the jar of dill spears and a glass of pink liquid. "Gracias, hermano," Zoe placed her cup on the stand beside her, digging a fork into the jar of pickles and pulling one out.
He chuckled at her eagerness, turning his attention back to Grey's Anatomy on the tv screen before them. "You should eat something else, maybe a sandwich." Zoe looked at him through raised eyebrows, swallowing the mouthful of pickles she currently had. "If you wanna make me one, go ahead." She teased, not expecting him to actually get up and make her one as he did. But, she didn't realize he put mayo on it until she was two bites in and her stomach took a turn for the worst.
Zoe sprinted to the bathroom, closing the door behind her and kneeling in front of the toilet. Zabdiel stood rooted to his spot in surprise, the front door opening a few seconds later. Christopher took in the room, frowning when he realized Zoe was missing. "Where is she?" Yenny smiled at Zabdiel from behind her son as he explained that she had suddenly taken off. "Is there mayo on it?" Zabdiel nodded, Christopher moving down the hallway to his girlfriend while shouting behind him. "Mayo makes her sick!"
Yenny grinned at her sons' attentiveness when he returned with Zoe by his side. Zabdiel went to apologize, but she waved him off. "It's okay, I normally like it. She doesn't," Zoe pointed at her stomach, switching her attention to Yenny. "Hola, mamá!" She smiled brightly, enveloping Christopher's mother in a hug. "I've missed you," Yenny squeezed her tightly but carefully, Christopher watching the interaction with a cheesy smile.
"Mija, I've missed you too!" She released Zoe from the hug, looking down at the baby bump. "And I finally get to meet this one," Yenny asked silently if it was okay to touch her stomach, Zoe guiding her hand to the spot her unborn child always kicked. Christopher came up behind Zoe, pressing a kiss to the side of her head. "Guau!" His mom gasped when she felt a smack against her palm, Zoe laughing giddily. "That's amazing!"
"Mhm, she's very strong," Zoe spoke as Yenny removed her hand, walking over to greet Zabdiel. Yenny and Zabdiel had met a long time ago while filming LaBanda and got along very well. "How'd it go? Was her flight okay?" Zoe questioned Christopher, turning around in his grasp. He nodded, pecking her on the lips. "Good, I heard security was a mess right now." Quarantine restrictions were just beginning to let up which meant everything was crazy right now.
Christopher grabbed Yenny's bags from where they'd been abandoned by the front door, Zoe leading all of them down the hallway. "I cleaned the guest room so everything should be ready for you," Zoe gestured for Yenny to enter the bedroom she'd recently finished, Christopher setting the items down on the edge of the bed. "If you need anything just let us know, chances are we probably have it. And if not I can-"
"Zobeida," Yenny gripped her by her shoulders, smiling kindly. "You've done a wonderful job, gracias." Zoe beamed with pride, Christopher and Zabdiel sharing a glance. She wouldn't listen to them about calming down but for some reason, Yenny could get through to her. "I'm very proud of you both, you're doing well." Christopher smiled at his mother, hooking an arm around both girls' shoulders. Zoe leaned into him instinctively, Zabdiel smiling sadly at the interaction. He was happy for his sister, but he was lonely. Over the past few months, he'd gotten over Madison completely once he realized how badly she'd treated him.
"Are you hungry, mamá?" Christopher questioned sometime later when they were in the living room, chatting about everything they've missed. Yenny nodded and Zoe went to stand up, but with one scolding look from Christopher she sat back down. "You're gonna work yourself to death, amor. Take a break," He kissed the top of her head, Yenny following him into the kitchen. Zabdiel and Zoe relaxed while the other two cooked, Christopher peeking his head out to check on Zoe every so often.
"Have you proposed yet?" Yenny asked bluntly, causing Christopher to choke on his own saliva. She smirked knowingly, crossing her arms over her chest. "Oh come on, I'm your mother. I know it's going to happen sometime soon," He stayed silent, the ghost of a smile playing on his lips. "Which is exactly why I brought this," Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a small black velvet case and opened it in front of him. Christopher smiled, tearing up at the beautiful diamond ring. "It was your great grandmothers,"
