"Tia Zoe!"
Aaliyah tackled Zoe's legs, sending her stumbling from the surprise attack. Christopher slid behind her instantly, gripping her hips for support. "You're wearing your crown!" The little girl cheered, pointing at yet another flower crown she'd made her. "You look so pretty!" Aaliyah cooed, her tiny hands releasing Zoe's white sundress with pink and orange flowers on it. Zoe laughed lightly, smoothing back Aaliyah's hair.
"Gracias, mi rayito de sol!" Zoe thanked the little girl, pinching her cheek. She stopped in her movements, glancing behind her with an evergrowing grin. "Uh oh, Tio Chris hasn't gotten his hug yet," Christopher came around and picked Aaliyah up, swinging her around in a circle. Aaliyah burst into a fit of giggles that Christopher contributed to, Zoe watching them with a cheesy smile.
"Hola, Mamas," Zion slung an arm around Zoe's shoulder, giving her a friendly kiss on the cheek. "Thanks for inviting us," He nodded to the rest of the group, who had brought their girlfriends. Well, apart from Zion and Edwin, who were both single. She waved his gratitude off, poking him in the side. "Of course, you guys are family." Joel and Jade were hosting a Cinco De Mayo party at their house since they actually had a yard and a big enough place to themselves.
"Z!" Brandon boomed, Maggie walking hand in hand with him. "How's my niece?" He flashed her a grin, taking turns with Maggie in hugging her. "Kicking like crazy. I think she's excited to meet everyone," Zoe joked, resting her hand right over the spot her daughter was repeatedly smacking. "I should go check and see if Jade needs help with the food," She bid them a quick goodbye, wandering toward the kitchen.
"Need some help?" Zoe smiled at Jade, waving her hand around the room. "Are you okay?" Her smile fell when she noticed the faint sheen of tears in Jade's eyes, crossing over to her in a few quick strides. "Jade, what's going on?" Jade sniffled, reaching into her pocket with a shocked smile. "Is that what I think it is?" Zoe gasped, holding two white sticks in her hand. Plus signs were displayed on both tests, a growing smile on Jade's face.
"Hey, guys," Joel appeared behind Jade, Zoe discretely slipping the pregnancy tests back to her friend. "How's it going in here?" Zoe looked at Jade with raised brows, getting a subtle nod in return. "I'm going to go find Christopher," She squeezed Jade's hand on the way out of the kitchen, giving Joel a knowing smile. He frowned in confusion, walking over to his wife. An uncontrollable smile on her face, Zoe started the search for her boyfriend as she said she was going to.
"Boo," Christopher popped up at Zoe's side from behind a pillar, the girl not even flinching. She gave him an unimpressed look, unable to hide her smile. "Aw, you don't scare easily anymore!" He pouted, shuffling up to her with a frown. "What are you so smiley about?" Christopher gripped her chin in between his thumb and index finger, tilting her head up to look him in the eyes. "Is there something on my face?" Zoe giggled, shaking her head. "Then what is it, Zobeida?" He whined, Joel and Jade bursting into the room a few seconds later.
"We're having a baby!"
He shouted at the top of his lungs with tears in his eyes, drawing attention from everyone. Christopher whipped back around to look at Zoe, his jaw dropped open. "That's why I was smiling," Zoe grinned, physically closing her boyfriends' jaw with her hand. "Our little girls' going to have two best friends already," She rubbed her belly, Christopher cupping Zoe's face in his palm. "Don't worry, she just told me. I didn't keep the secret for long," Zoe giggled, standing on her tiptoes to peck his lips.
"Mhm," Zoe rolled her eyes, smiling despite herself. Christopher grinned cheekily, plucking the flower crown from her head and placing it on his. She stared up at him with pure adoration reflecting in her eyes, her heart bursting with love. He looked at her with the exact same range of emotion, stroking her cheek with his thumb. "Feliz Cinco De Mayo, mi Amor," Christopher mused, her hands resting on sides.
"Happy Cinco De Mayo, mi Vida," Christopher leaned down, careful not to knock his crown off, and kissed her gently. It didn't matter that they were in a room full of people, they couldn't care less about what anyone thought. "Te amo," She murmured against his lips, nudging his nose with her own. His free hand rests in the small of her back, toying aimlessly with the cotton fabric underneath his fingers. "So so much,"
"Te amo también," He rocked them back and forth to the music playing overhead. They originally couldn't hear Harry Styles 'Sweet Creature', but now that everyone had quieted down it was at the perfect volume. Christopher slid his hands so that he was grabbing onto one of hers, spinning her gently underneath his arm. Zoe laughed softly, their arms locked as they swayed from side to side. "Zobeida?" She hummed, lifting her head off of his chest. "I'm so happy you're in my life,"
She smiled up at him, tearing up from her overwhelming hormones. "Me too, Christopher. Me too," Zoe bit her bottom lip, glancing down at her stomach. "Just like I'm glad we're starting a family. Even if it wasn't planned," Christopher smiled lovingly, removing his hand from her waist and placing it on her belly. "And I can't wait to have your baby," She teased, laying her hand over his. He chuckled softly, still lighting up at the thought.
"I should hope so, cause she isn't gonna wait much longer."
