The entire group sat in the second row of seating, each of them coupled up. Even Zabdiel, who was ecstatic to find out Kat was there. Shawn Mendes, one of Zoe's celebrity crushes, and Camila Cabello were about to perform their single Señorita. She hadn't stopped hopping from foot to foot with excitement for around ten minutes and her eagerness to see the Canadian boy was starting to annoy him.
"Oh please, like you aren't excited to see Camila!" Zoe shot back, lifting a perfectly sculpted eyebrow in his direction. Christopher pursed his lips, not arguing with her on the subject since she was, in fact, correct. He searched her expression warily, wondering if his harmless crush would bother her. "Relax, Christopher. I think she's cute too," She giggled cheekily, shooting him a wink. Christopher gaped at his girlfriend, possessively pulling her to stand in front of him. Zoe was in surprisingly good spirits considering the events that happened an hour earlier.
It just made her realize that Christopher wasn't going anywhere and she didn't have any reason to worry. "Mine," He pouted, kissing her temple. She shifted so she leaned into his side, swaying back and forth as music filled the room. "He is pretty good," Christopher admitted when Shawn started singing, Zoe craning her neck to smile up at him. Zoe sang the lyrics under breath, elbowing Christopher until he joined. Soon, their entire group was singing along to the song while dancing ridiculously.
Camila, who Zoe had met a few times over the years, smiled at her from the stage when the song ended. The entire row turned to Zoe with raised eyebrows. "What? We met last year," She explained, flushing a beet red color when she noticed Shawn smiled at her. Christopher glowered until Shawn smiled at him too, relaxing his grip on Zoe. Zoe laid her free hand back on her stomach, having noticed an increased amount of kicking during Señorita. "It seems that she likes the music too,"
"Of course she does, look at her family." Christopher gushed proudly, noticing another boyband, In Real Life, coming out onto the stage. "I think this is our category," The boys lit up, as did their significant others while awaiting the results. CNCO was up for the Choice Latin Artist award, which Zoe had gotten all of her friends and former castmates to vote on. "And the award goes to," All ten of them held their breath, nervous butterflies settling in her stomach.
"CNCO!"
Zoe shouted cheerfully, clapping her hands together. She could barely get out the word 'congratulations' before Christopher had picked her up. He crashed his lips onto hers for a short, sweet, intense kiss that sent tingles all up and down Zoe's spine. Christopher released her breathlessly, sitting her back down. He hovered for a moment, the rest of the boys starting toward the stage. She giggled, pointing toward them.
"Go!"
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Christopher ran after the rest of the boys. Proud tears sprung in Zoe's eyes, cupping her hands over her mouth. All five girls, even Kat, huddled together to watch their speech. Normally, Zabdiel gave the speeches but his English still wasn't the best. So Christopher stepped up despite Joel being the obvious choice since Zoe had been helping him improve his English.
"We'd like to thank our families for giving us the chance to do all of this," He started, trying the remember everything he'd practiced with Zoe. Swallowing the lump in his throat, Christopher searched for a quick moment until he found her. "I'd like to thank the love of my life, Zobeida, for making me the happiest man alive." Christopher pulled away from the microphone, giving the other boys a chance to thank someone. He blew her a kiss from the stage, Zoe giggling as she pretended to capture it.
Zoe didn't notice she was crying until a tear fell on her hand, eagerly wiping the rest of them away. The boys made their way backstage as customary after you won an award, returning around twenty minutes later. A few cameras honed in on them as they went back to their seats, locking specifically on Christopher. He grinned widely at Zoe, pulling her back into another hug. She kissed his cheek, toying with his hair.
"I'm so proud of you," She cooed in his ear, feeling him smile against her skin. Zoe moved on to hug her brother, Kat smiling at the interaction. "Te amo, hermano." Zabdiel squeezed her gently, letting her go so that she could congratulate the others. "Good job, pendejo," She joked, messing up Erick's hair on purpose. "Joelito, Richuki, congratulations," Zoe hugged both boys at once, walking back over to Christopher as soon as she was done.
"I couldn't have done it without you, mi amor." Christopher kissed her cheek, resting a hand on Zoe's belly. "You too, Princesa." Zoe perked up at the mention of Rosalia from on stage, a giddy smile on her face. He chuckled, knowing she absolutely adored the Spanish artist. They mouthed the lyrics together, Christopher noticing the slightly downcast look on Zoe's face after a minute. "You miss it don't you? Performing?"
Zoe looked up at Christopher, amazed by how well he was able to read her. "Si, I do." She sighed, glancing down at her five-month belly. "But, she's worth it." Christopher brushed back some of her hair from her eyes. "I just hope that when she comes I'll still have time to perform," Zoe admitted, shrugging her shoulders. He frowned, clasping her hands in between both of his much larger ones.
"I swear that I will make sure you do," He kissed her knuckles, happy tears welling up in Zoe's eyes. "Your happiness is important to me," Christopher continued, speaking into her ear so she could hear him over the music. "We can take her on tour with us, she can see the world. But I'm not leaving you behind," Zoe cupped his face in between her hands, feeling the raw emotion coming from him. "You're gonna have your career, and we are gonna support you the whole time."
