#ILWTD CHAPTER 1

"Good morning. I'm Doctor Jimenez, and I'm your Adviser for this year." I avoided looking at the person I used to look at. I almost forgot that I was here to study and not to look at someone I had long admired. Unfortunately, our prof is here, so I can't even look at him.

He's  the person I love the most. From first year to today. He's not my classmate because he's course is BA. I'm thankful that their building and our building are just adjacent. Our room was right next to their room so even in the window I could see him.

God, he's so handsome!!

"Get ½ index card, and write your name then your contact number. And all informations you can write about yourself. After that you may past it to me." agad akong kumuha ng index card ko at nagsulat ng kailangang isulat.

"M, can you give a ½ index card please? I forgot to buy e." I look at my seatmate when she called my name.

"Kahit kailan talaga. Hindi ka parin nagbabago." Sabi ko at binigyan siya. Pasalamat siya, kaibigan ko siya.

"Yiee! Thank you best friend!" She said and grin.

"Since, you are aware that the course you choose is Medicine. Now," our prof began as he was choosing one index card to answer his question. "Give me one Lessons From Doctors That Med Students Should Learn." pero nagkamali ako. Hayyss! Agad akong tumayo nung tinawag ako. "Ms. Creus?"

May alam naman ako eh. I'm a Dean's lister after all. "Doctors learn to trust their judgment, Sir." that one should've students known. "According to Alexandra Duncan, Managing Director of Praxis Clinical, a school that provides clinical skills training courses to universities, hospitals and community and government programs, finding success as a doctor means learning to trust oneself. Since medical students haven't yet had the chance to learn through trial and error, they haven't yet built that trust, and are forced to go through the motions instead of following their instincts."

"What Duncan noted in an email interview about that?"

"When a medical student is in a patient encounter you can literally see them going down a checklist in their head," I answered his question. "They get so caught up in the knowledge that they forget the patient."

"Very good"

"Best friend! Wala kasi akong gana.

"Ganun talaga. Kaya dapat ikaw rin." sabi ko. She tsked.

"Ano ba yung sinagot mo?"

"Doctors are OK with being flexible" tumango-tango ako.
