[Smut Warning]
[Camila's POV]
We had gotten up fairly early on the morning of Christmas Eve as both of our families have several traditions that we weren't about to miss out on this year. The first on the list was a Mendes family tradition: a family breakfast outing. We decided to go to the diner – Shawn and I's favorite breakfast destination. Both of our parents told endless stories about what we were like growing up as Sofi and Aaliyah were off in their own little world gabbing about who knows what. At one point they had both burst into laughter about something that had been said and Shawn and I just looked at each other and smiled. We were both so happy that they were already so close.
Next we headed back to Shawn and I's house for a Cabello family tradition: making conchas.
"I feel like I'm screwing this up..." Shawn said as he carefully cut slits into the topping. "These aren't gonna look like shells at all..." I chuckled and kissed him on the cheek.
"I'm sure they'll be perfect."
When we pulled them out of the oven, Shawn was so proud of his work that he had to take his phone out and take a picture to document the moment.
"Are you almost done taking your pictures? That one on the bottom left is practically begging to be devoured..." Aaliyah exclaimed dramatically. Shawn slipped his phone back in his pocket and handed her the requested pastry before picking one up and breaking it in half for him and I to share.
"Oh my god, this is incredible," he grumbled with his mouth full.
"I can tell," I said with a laugh.
Next tradition was another one from the Mendes family: ice skating. I had never ice skated before, so most of our ice skating excursion was spent with Shawn's arms wrapped around me, holding me up as we slowly made our way around the rink — not that I was complaining. The more contact with him the better, in my opinion. At one point Shawn and I both caught ourselves admiring a young couple with an adorable baby. We both looked away from them and toward each other, clearly thinking the same thing.
"I want to at least wait until we're married...I mean, if on our wedding night you wanna put a baby in me you can feel free to do so," I said. We both laughed.
After that was another tradition from my family, a hot chocolate date. The eight of us walked into Bellow's and ordered our hot chocolate. Shawn started to order his normal coffee order but I shot him a look before he could even get it out.
"The tradition is hot chocolate, not coffee."
"Fine...but I am getting a coffee to go before we leave!"
