[Camila's POV]
"We should go on a vacation," Shawn suggested. I took my eyes away from my laptop and eyed him curiously.
"Oh yeah? And where do you think we should go?" I asked. He furrowed his brows in thought for a moment before sighing.
"We'll have to figure that part out later, but seriously! We should go on a trip - I think it'd be fun," he said excitedly. His childlike excitement about life's simplest pleasures always brought a smile to my face.
"I'm down. When are you thinking we take this grand vacation?" I asked. He sat silently in thought for a moment.
"Are you free in two weeks?" My eyes widened at his eagerness.
"Two weeks? Babe, we don't even know if we'll be able to get time off yet, are you sure you don't want to wait a little bit longer?" I suggested. Shawn shook his head.
"No no - we can totally pull this off. Now - destination. Where's some place you've always wanted to go?" he asked.
"Are you thinking international or not?" I questioned. With this being such an impromptu idea, I wasn't quite sure who he was thinking would pay for it. I didn't want to suggest some grand getaway if he was planning on paying for it entirely himself.
"Go big or go home, right?" he said. Shit. I thought about it for a second before throwing out a few suggestions.
"Okay, well I've always wanted to go to Greece...but I also think it'd be cool to go to Italy or France! Or what about somewhere in Asia? Like Bali! We could also go somewhere a tad closer, like Hawaii?" I suggested. Shawn chuckled at my sudden enthusiasm.
"For someone who was just asking where we could possibly go you sure have a lot of suggestions." I shrugged shyly. He was right, I had always wanted to travel but never really got around to actually doing it. That didn't stop me from creating a mental list of all of the places I had always wanted to travel to, though. He grabbed his laptop from the coffee table and opened it up, pulling me closer to his side. "Come on, let's research some places and see where we wanna go," he suggested.
We spent the next couple of hours creating a full list of places that we both wanted to visit and doing research on each of them. We ended up deciding on going to Bali on this trip, one of my suggestions.
"Okay, we'll put in our vacation requests tomorrow when we get to work and as long as we get that approved we can book flights and our hotel tomorrow night!" he said before giving me a kiss on the cheek. I laughed and shook my head. "What?" he questioned.
"Nothing...I just really love spontaneous you are. I've never been like that. I always have a whole list of things I want to do and places I want to see, but I never actually do any of them," I explained timidly. Shawn smiled and took my hand in his.
"Well, stick with me. I would love to go on adventures with you," he said confidently as he brought my hand up to his lips to kiss it.

As soon as we got to work the next day, we both submitted our vacation requests and by that afternoon they were both approved. That night, we were back on the couch perusing the internet for flights and hotels - starting with hotels. We looked at a few different options, but ended up deciding on the Viceroy Bali hotel. I thought again about mentioning something about splitting the payment, but Shawn had already submitted his credit card information before I could bring it up. Once we began looking at flight plans it didn't take long to find one that worked for us.
"I can pay for the flights," I said quickly before Shawn could sneakily pay for them himself again. He looked over at me and raised his eyebrows.
"You can, but you're not going to," he said nonchalantly before bringing his attention back to his laptop. I sighed and pulled his hand away from his laptop.
"Babe, this is too much. Can you just let me pay for some of it?" I asked. He smiled and leaned in to kiss the tip of my nose.
"Don't worry about it, seriously. I've got it." His stubbornness would be the death of me. I made one more attempt to pitch in.
"Shawn, I really..." He quickly shut me up by pressing his lips against mine.
"Just let me spoil you, okay?" he whispered against my lips after pulling away. I quietly nodded, trying to ignore the heat that had flushed to my cheeks when he kissed me. "Good girl," he said jokingly as he gently patted the side of my face.
"You know the next two weeks are going to go by excruciatingly slow now, right?" I asked. Shawn chuckled.
"Fuck...you're right."

[Shawn's POV]
The two weeks before our Bali getaway actually went shockingly fast. We only had a few more days before we left and Camila and I had compiled a decent sized list of things we still needed to pick up from various stores before we could leave. She wanted to stay at the house and pack a bit, so I offered to go out and do the last minute shopping. My first stop was Target to pick up some travel sized shampoo bottles as well as some plastic bags and a new set of luggage tags. Next stop was Barnes & Noble to pick up a book that Camila wanted to read on the flight over there - apparently this was her favorite writer and they had just released a new poetry collection. I flipped through a couple of the pages as I walked up to the register and already knew she was going to love it. My last stop of the day was Sephora to pick up some special body lotion that she liked. Luckily for me our Barnes & Noble and Sephora we're located in the same mall, so it wasn't too far out of my way. As I walked from one store to the next, my eyes were drawn to a jewelry store in between the two.
I hadn't necessarily been planning on proposing to her, at least not yet anyways - but we were nearing our one year anniversary, so I figured I would make the pit stop anyway and see if anything caught my eye as a potential anniversary gift. Go figure the only thing that caught my eye was a diamond ring. I knew that I wanted to marry her, but it wasn't necessarily at the top of my 'to-do' list. However, looking at that ring, I knew I had to get it. I had no idea when I was going to propose - or how I was going to propose, but I did know that when I did that was the ring I was going to do it with. It was her ring.
I debated whether or not I should buy it now or wait, but quickly determined that the ring was too beautiful to wait on - so I bought it. I couldn't help but laugh when I thought back to Camila commenting on my spontaneity...if only she knew just how spontaneous I could really be.

P.S. In case you haven't caught on, these chapters don't necessarily take place one right after another. Unless I specifically say that it was the next day, you can pretty much always assume that at least a week or so has passed. I'm kinda just jumping all over the place. LOVE YOU GUYS.
