[Camila's POV]
I couldn't help but smile like an idiot when I saw the text from Shawn come through. My heart felt like it was about to fly out of my chest with the reality that I would be marrying the love of my life in less than 24 hours beginning to set in. I read and re-read the text over and over again several times before responding.
- Nothing I could say would be able to convey everything I feel about you. I am so in love with you, and so in love with living my life with you by my side. Thank you for loving me, and thank you for teaching me to love myself. Goodnight, my love. See you tomorrow (I'll be the one in the overpriced dress). ♥️🥰
I laid my head against my pillow, but I knew it was useless. The excitement I felt rushing through my veins mixed with the absence of the one human who could bring me peace meant I was sure to get almost no sleep tonight. Apparently Shawn had the same struggle, because around 2 am I got another text from him.
- Are you awake too?
I smiled to myself and picked my phone up to type a response.
- Yes :( Too excited to sleep, also it's hard to sleep without you...
I saw the three dots in the chat bubble pop up, meaning Shawn was typing—but then it disappeared. The typing bubble continued to reappear and disappear several times before he finally sent the text.
- Should I sneak over? I know we're not supposed to see each other...but I miss you :(
My heart ached to see him and be wrapped up in his arms. Part of me felt pathetic for not even being able to go one night without him, but I figured it was probably a good thing that we always wanted to be together considering we would be getting married within hours. I let out a deep sigh before responding to his message.
- As much as I would love that, I don't think it would work. Our sisters crashed in the living room tonight, and you know they wouldn't keep their mouths shut if you snuck in.
We were having a pretty small wedding with less than a hundred guests, so my only bridesmaids were Sofi and Aaliyah. I let them crash at Shawn and I's house since they'd be helping me get ready in the morning. My mom would be coming over first thing in the morning to also help me get ready, as well as my dad—but I knew he would probably be spending the majority of his time watching TV as we all got ready. Karen and Manny had decided to stay at the hotel and be with Shawn as he got ready, which was understandable.
- Alright, alright...I'll stay at this boring hotel. But I miss you...and I love you. See you at our wedding, Mrs. Mendes. 😏
The use of my soon-to-be name immediately made me blush. I set my phone back down on the nightstand and attempted to fall asleep again.

"Mija...you get to marry Shawn today..." I heard my mom whisper as she gently shook me awake. A smile instantly crept across my face at the realization that she was right—I get to marry Shawn today.
"Did you remember the dresses?" I sleepily asked.
"Yes, I picked them up this morning. Sofi and Aaliyah are steaming them now." I nodded and got out of bed, stretching out my tired limbs before getting in the shower. After finishing said shower I brushed my teeth, combed my hair, did my morning skincare routine, moisturized my legs & slipped on my favorite fuzzy robe. I stepped out into the living room and was quickly greeted by three of my favorite women.
