[Shawn's POV]
It's a Girl!
We both looked at the tiny piece of paper in disbelief.
"It's a girl?" Camila asked in shock.
"It's a girl." My voice was quiet and soft but the emotions breaking through my words were loud and clear. I lifted my gaze from the paper to my wife's face who had already been looking at me with a cheeky grin. She squealed and threw her arms around my neck, giving me a tight hug that I happily reciprocated.
"What the fuck are we going to name her..." Camila laughed into the crook of my neck earning a hearty chuckle from me.
"I'm sure we'll be able to figure something out."
[Camila's POV]
I could feel the happy tears streaming down my cheeks as I squeezed Shawn in my arms. I was genuinely shocked that it wasn't a boy because I really did feel like it was—but I was also beyond excited to have a little baby girl. In this case, I didn't mind being wrong. Shawn's phone began to ring so I released him from my grip. He answered the phone and began talking. I could tell he was on the phone with our realtor, but I couldn't quite hear what was being said on the other line.
"Really?" Shawn said excitedly into the phone as he looked up at me with wide eyes. "That's great news!" A huge smile was plastered on his face and I had a feeling I knew why. "Yes, oh my god. Absolutely. This is...this is fantastic. Thank you." The call ended and Shawn beamed at me with excitement.
"The couple that came to see our house during the appointment want to buy it! Apparently they instantly fell in love with it and knew it was perfect. They put an offer in for the full asking price!"
"Oh my god, baby!" I once again wrapped my arms around his neck and squeezed him tight against me once more. Thanks to the pregnancy hormones, I immediately started crying.
"Aw, honey...are you crying?"
"Yeah..." I chuckled through my tears. "I just...I don't know. I'm so lucky. Thank you."
"We're both so lucky. And why are you thanking me? We did this together." Shawn gently massaged my back in circles.
"No, I just mean...thank you. Thank you for being my friend, thank you for taking care of me after the Lucas thing, thank you for loving me, for giving me this beautiful baby girl, for creating our dream home. Just...everything. Thank you for everything." I brought my hand up to wipe away my tears.
"Well, you're welcome...but there's really no need to thank me. Loving you is a dream come true." One thing I always loved about Shawn was the ability for me to be able to look in his eyes and see nothing but truth. Honestly, I don't think he could lie if he wanted to. Looking into his eyes as he said those words to me, I knew they were true and my heart felt like it could burst. I gently brushed my thumb across his cheek before leaning in and connecting our lips in a soft, tender kiss.
- Two Weeks Later -
[Shawn's POV]
I had talked to the builders and with a little monetary persuasion they were able to give our house top priority so we would be able to move in by the time we had to be out of our current home. Camila was dreading the idea of having to be in an apartment until our house was finished and I didn't blame her. Luckily with the updated timeline we were given by the builders, we would be able to avoid apartment living. We began packing some of our things into boxes, starting with the stuff that we never use or that had already been collecting dust.
We spent the majority of our Sunday afternoon in the guest room packing that stuff up. There wasn't a ton of stuff in there, really just some random things that Camila had brought when she initially moved in—most of which were still in boxes anyway. It had been long enough that even she wasn't 100% sure what was in the boxes, so we opened each one up and sifted through them quickly before closing them back up.
"There's one more in the back of the closet...would you go through that one?" Camila said as she retrieved the second to last box from the closet. I nodded and grabbed it before taking it back to the bed and opening it up. Most of it was pretty standard—some DVDs, a couple books, a blanket, and an old lamp. I lifted the blanket and immediately felt something hidden inside of it. Letting my curiosity get the best of me, I unraveled the blanket to find a baby blue vibrator hidden inside of it.
"What's in that box, baby?" Camila asked as she noticed me staring at its contents.
"Your sex toys, apparently," I said as I held up the vibrator.
Her eyes immediately shot up to me and her face turned bright red.
"Relax, babe." I couldn't help but chuckle at her instant embarrassment. "You don't have to be embarrassed."
"Well, to be fair...when I moved in I didn't realize I wouldn't exactly be needing one..." Her gaze fell from my face to my crotch momentarily and suddenly I was the one who was blushing. I took the vibrator out of the box and set it down on the bed before closing the box back up and setting it down with the others.
"Babe..." she groaned when she saw I had kept her little battery-operated friend.
"What?" I laughed as I picked it back up. "I mean now that I know you have one we might as well get some good use out of it." I winked and she just shook her head and laughed. She did her best to act like she was keeping herself together but I knew the idea of me using it on her turned her on.
"You'll be the death of me, I swear..." she grumbled under her breath.
"I have a feeling that won't be what you'll be saying later." I walked past her and into our bedroom, setting the device on the nightstand. Sure enough, later that night as I slid the baby blue vibrator in and out of her she had nothing but praises for me.
"You know," I whispered against her lips as she caught her breath after a particularly intense orgasm. "You've watched me...it's only fair that I get to watch you sometime." I'd be lying if I said my mind hadn't been swirling with images of the quality time she had spent with this newly discovered toy since I had found it and I was beyond curious to know what she did when she was left to her own devices—no pun intended.
"Hmm, I'm sure that can be arranged," she happily hummed.
