[Shawn's POV]

It had been two weeks since we returned home with baby Hazel and although being parents to a newborn was quite the adjustment, things were going about as well as they could. As we had noticed when we were still in the hospital, Hazel was an extremely laid back little girl. She hardly cried but was constantly hungry, was extremely curious about everything, and loved to play with and pull on my hair whenever she was close enough to reach it. Camila put a lot of work into making the nursery somewhere cute and cozy for both us and the baby and she honestly did a fantastic job. Lots of carpet and rugs on the floor to help cushion any tumbles that might happen when she starts walking, one of the walls covered in wallpaper with a light blue pattern of the phases of the moon, shelves on the wall with a bunch of books to read to her, some colorful wall art and decor pillows, and a little rocking chair in the corner of the room. It was the perfect space for the perfect girl.

One day as Camila was taking a shower, Hazel and I put her "push present" in a small gift bag. I hadn't even heard the term push present until my mom asked me what I had gotten for Camila. Apparently it's tradition for the father to give the mother a gift after she gives birth. I felt kind of bad for not having anything for Camila at the time, but as it turns out she had never heard of a push present either—so that made me feel less guilty. Still, I felt like I should get her something. I had originally only planned on getting her one of the two items I bought her, but when I saw the other gift I just couldn't resist, so she was getting two presents. I had Hazel wrapped up in a body wrap that held her against my chest as I placed tissue paper around each of Camila's gifts and placed them in the gift bag, finishing just as I heard the water in the bathroom shut off.

"Okay lovebug...ready to go give this to mommy?" I looked down and saw Hazel had completely fallen asleep with her cheek pressed against my chest as she let out the tiniest little snores. "I guess that's going to have to be a yes..." I walked into our room just as Camila was pulling her t-shirt on.

"Guess who needs to open their two week late push present?" I said in a sing-song voice as I held the bag out. Camila laughed and shook her head.

"Babe, you really didn't have to get me anything. I told you I didn't even know this was a thing..."

"I know, I know..." I said. "I just like getting you gifts, honestly. There's two things for you in there...well, I guess one is technically for Hazel, but still." She pulled out the first gift and took of the tissue paper to reveal the small box. She opened it up and smiled wide when she saw the rose gold necklace with a tiny wire "H" wrapped around the chain.

"This is precious

"This is precious..." Her voice wavered slightly and I could've sworn she was about to cry. That seemed to be happening a lot recently due to the post pregnancy hormones, and though she was often embarrassed by it I personally thought it was endearing. I walked over and took the necklace from her, unclasping it as she turned around and lifted her hair away from her neck. I secured the chain around her neck, leaning down and kissing the skin where her neck met her shoulder before pulling away.

"This is beautiful," she said as she placed her hand over the pendant, holding it against her chest. "I love it. Thank you."

"There's something else in the bag!" I reminded her with a goofy smile. She cocked an eyebrow at me. She could tell by my face that this gift was much less sentimental than the necklace. She reached in the bag and pulled out the other gift, taking off the tissue paper and exposing a folded baby onesie. She unfolded it and held it out in front of her. Almost immediately, she rolled her eyes and started laughing.

"Really, baby?"

I instantly started laughing because although neither of us knew exactly when Hazel was conceived we did know that the odds of this onesie being true were actually kind of good

I instantly started laughing because although neither of us knew exactly when Hazel was conceived we did know that the odds of this onesie being true were actually kind of good. My chest heaving as I laughed must've woken our little girl up, because it wasn't long until her adorable little snores turned into grumpy grumbles.

"I'm sorry, baby. I'm sorry...you can go back to sleep..." I cooed down to the tiny girl being held against my chest. She didn't put up much of a fight. Soon enough, the snores were back.

"Hey," I said as I walked over to Camila, placing my hand on the small of her back. "I know I didn't have to get you anything, but I hope you know that I really am just so proud of you and so grateful for you. You worked so hard for this little girl...and look at her. She's perfect." I leaned in and kissed her tenderly. "You're perfect," I whispered against her lips. She sighed contently and rested her forehead against mine.

"I couldn't have done it without you...literally," she chuckled. "I love our little family so much." I looked down at the sleeping baby being held against me and smiled.

"Let's make another one."

"That's not even a little bit funny..." Camila deadpanned as I tried to hold in my laughter.
