Erik seemed frozen when you told him. For a moment, you felt sick - and not in a pregnant kind of way. What if his reaction was bad?
But the dread was unnecessary, as it turned out. Disbelief melted into a tentative smile as Erik accepted that what he thought he could have again was right here in front of him. One hand went to your waist, the other coming to rest at the back of your neck, his forehead pressed against yours.
In that moment, no words were needed.
