26. "A villain is just a victim whose story hasn't been told."

"How can you help him, T'Challa? How can you bring this man into our country, knowing what he has done? He killed your father!"

No one knew that Wakanda's prince--well, he was the king now--was married. T'Challa had effectively kept his wife safe from the public eye, but he felt it was only right for her to meet the fugitives they would be harboring. So, he introduced Steve Rogers and the others to his greatest secret. And she was furious.

"He did not do it, (Y/N), it is a long story," T'Challa explained, attempting to placate her.

"A long story?" she demanded, glaring at the Winter Soldier. "He is a villain, and you welcome him with open arms!"

Steve Rogers frowned and moved to say something, but T'Challa held up his hand. "My dear, in this instance, the villain is just a victim whose story hasn't been told."

She watched him carefully, clenching her jaw. "Fine. Then let the story be told." Her gaze next fixed on the small group of so-called criminals. "I will trust the judgement of my king."

Moving to sit, she carried herself with grace and composure as she awaited the explanation of a lifetime.
