JUNGKOOK P.O.V.
"Jungkook!" Nothing.
"Jungkook!" Nothing again.
"Jungk-" the roommate was cut off by a loud snore, coming from none other than Jungkook himself. He was positively dead to the world, well that was until he felt a stinging pain spread through his cheek.
Jungkook jolted awake, his head banging against something hard, followed by a loud thud and a curse. He winced, rubbing his head as he curiously peered over his bed, his eyes landing on his roommate who was sprawled out across the floor, and if looks could kill Jungkook would be six feet underground.
"Ah I'm so sorry Yoobin! You scared me," he apologised quickly, feeling a little amused as he watched his roommate huff and stand up, brushing himself off.
"It's okay hyung. The mail is here by the way, there's a letter for you." He paused for a moment, "I'm tempted to open it so hurry up before I do." With that Yoobin left the room, leaving Jungkook to process everything that had just happened.
Yoobin was the only friend Jungkook had, the only person who really didn't judge him for not having a soulmate mark.
He remembers his sixteenth birthday like it was yesterday. He remembers staying up, watching as the clock turned midnight. He remembers shakily climbing up from his bed and stepping in front of the body length mirror before he stripped himself out of his clothes. He remembers the utter panic he felt when he could find no soulmate mark, not even a blemish marked his smooth skin. He remembers the panicked and shameful sobs leaving his body as he desperately tried to find his soulmate mark, finding nothing each and every time he looked.
Jungkook was unmarked and that was extremely rare, almost as rare as having multiple soulmates. He remembers his parents reactions once he had told them he bared no soulmate mark, letting his mother double check in case he had not seen it.
That wasn't the case, Jungkook was unmarked. He was destined to live his long life alone, without his other part. Despite this, his parents were supportive although he soon become annoyed at the looks of pity they gave him each and everyday. They supported him right up to the day he decided to make a new chapter for himself, when he decided to move away to Seoul and where he finally met his first friend.
A lazy smile appeared on his lips as he remembered the day he met Yoobin, it was rather eventful. Jungkook chuckled and finally clambered out of bed, slowly starting to wake up more and more.
He grabbed his hoodie that was hung over his desk chair and slipped it on while walking out of his bedroom and down the hallway, following the scent and sound of sizzling bacon.
As he turns the corner to the kitchen he's met with the sight of Yoobin standing over the stove, a spectacular in hand as he tries his best to try and get the bacon out of the frying pan.
"The letter is on the counter. Hurry up, I'm excited to know what it is." Yoobin said without looking up, focusing his attention on the bacon.
Jungkook frowned a little at that, he wasn't one to usually be getting mail. There was no reason for him to be getting mail, unless his parents were sending him something but surely they would have told him.
He shrugged and walked towards the counter, curiously picking up the letter and looking at it. His eyes fell on the writing on the front of the envelope and widened slightly, it looked highly fancy, nothing like this parents writing.
Jungkook sighed and gently started opening the envelope, being careful as he didn't want to risk ripping the letter inside it. By now Yoobin had finally gotten the bacon out of the frying pan and was now hovering over Jungkook, peeking over his shoulder in order to see the letter.
He finally pulled the letter out of the envelope, willing to stop his hands from shaking. He suddenly felt extremely nervous, as if the letter held important news. Jungkook carefully unfolded the letter, immediately being greeted with a fancy looking logo at the top of the paper.
Eyebrows furrowed in confusion he finally started to read the words printed onto the paper.
𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙈𝙧 𝙅𝙚𝙤𝙣 𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙠𝙤𝙤𝙠,
𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮. 𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩. 𝙏𝙚𝙧𝙢 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 1𝙨𝙩. 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙡𝙪𝙘𝙠.
𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙮,
𝙔𝙤𝙤𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙜.
Jungkook all but gaped at the letter, rereading the letter quickly in case he had made a mistake and read it wrong. He hadn't.
"What does it say hyung?" Yoobin questions, leaning over his shoulder and plucking the letter out of his hands. Jungkook is too shocked to react and so he lets it happen, trying to process that fact that he had been accepted into the school of his dreams, but not just any school.
This school was one of the top schools in Seoul, everyone of age wanted to attend and most were rejected. It didn't make sense to Jungkook. It would be a new school year which meant a lot of people had applied to attend, better more worthy people than him. People who had a soulmate mark.
It didn't make sense. Jungkook, an unmarked, had been accepted.
He was going to Divinity.
