JUNGKOOK P.O.V.
"I'm so proud of you hyung!" Yoobin shouted as soon as he had finished reading the letter, as well as the schooling supplies his best friend would need. "Although I am a little bitter that you're leaving me." He huffed, a playful smile spreading across his lips. He was happy for Jungkook, knowing what this meant for him.
Jungkook was still in a daze, he couldn't believe it. "Jungkook?" He was snapped out of his thoughts by his roommates voice, turning so he was now looking at Yoobin.
"I can't believe it. I..I actually got accepted," he uttered, shaking his head as a large smile spread across his lips. "I got accepted!" He was laughing now, positively buzzing with happiness. He couldn't wait until school started, and that was something he never thought would happen.
Yoobin nodded excitedly, "you leave on your birthday though, so we'll just have to celebrate it the day before you leave! We can also go shopping for all your supplies," Jungkook almost forget that his birthday was coming up, and especially now because it would also be the day he would be starting at Divinity.
"When did you apply though, hyung? You never told me you applied," he faltered at that slightly, it was all in a moment of weakness if he was being honest with himself. He never even thought that they would even take the time to look at his form, never mind accept it.
"I applied two months ago actually. I had looked the form up and after awhile I just found myself filling it out and in a moment of stupidity I actually sent it in," He paused, playing with the strings of his hood nervously, "I never even thought they would look at it, yet alone accept me into the school."
He watched as Yoobin rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "You deserve it Kook, just because you're an unmarked doesn't mean you can't follow your dreams." He was always looking at the positive side of things, despite his own problems.
Jungkook couldn't help but feel bad for his best friend, especially after what had happened last month. Yoobin had finally found his soulmate, only to be halfheartedly rejected because his soulmate was in love with another. He remembers the countless nights he stayed up and comforted his best friend, telling him it was going to be alright. Jungkook didn't know for certain but he had an inkling that his best friend would soon get his soulmate back.
After all, a person couldn't live without their soulmate.
—
It had been about a week since Jungkook has received his acceptance letter, only one more week to go before he would be leaving and starting yet another chapter of his life.
Today would be his last day at work and if he was being honest he would miss it, especially the owners of the little cafe he was lucky enough to secure a job at.
Jungkook hummed to himself as he stepped out of the shower, lazily wrapping a towel around his waist as he made his way back towards his bedroom. Yoobin was already out so he didn't have to worry about that, although he couldn't have but feel curious as to where his roommate kept on disappearing to.
Once in his room he was quick to get dressed in his work uniform, he preferred to arrive in his uniform rather than dress in the back room of the cafe.
Jungkook grabbed his phone and his jacket before finally making his way out of the apartment, the cafe wasn't that far away, only about a ten minute walk from the apartment complex.
He hummed to himself as he walked, nodding in greeting towards the receptionist as he passed by the main desk before exiting the complex completely and being met with people bustling around the streets, all trying to get to their designated destination.
Being unmarked was extremely uncommon which is why people struggled with accepting the people who weren't marked. It made sense to Jungkook in a way, people were so used to interacting with the ones that were marked that they had no idea what to do with the ones that weren't.
But it also annoyed him, the unmarked were still people and should be treated as such.
Jungkook sighed and looked up, smiling a little once he saw the familiar sign to the cafe.
—
"Good morning Peggy." Jungkook voiced as he walked inside the cafe, his eyes falling onto the owner of the cafe who was seated behind the counter. It wasn't busy yet but Jungkook knew it would be soon, the cafe was always busy on days like these.
"Ah, good morning Jungkook!" Peggy cheerily replied, quickly walking out from behind the counter and towards him, grinning all the while. "Have you heard anything from them yet? My grandson got his acceptance letter last week, he was so excited."
He smiled and nodded, Peggy was the only one he had told about filling out the form. She was like a paternal figure to him and he was beyond grateful for what she and her husband had done for him, they never once question him for being an unmarked and were the only people willing to give him a job.
"I got accepted as well. Maybe I'll see your grandson there," Jungkook smiled, maybe he would be able to befriend her grandson, it would be nice to have at least one friend there.
He watched as Peggy clapped her hands, her grin widening. "I'm so proud of you! Let's have some cake and tea to celebrate." He was about to object since customers were bound to be arriving soon but stopped short as she was already dragging him towards the break room, muttering about how proud and excited she was.
Jungkook spent the next few hours working and saying goodbye to everyone he had worked with for the past year. He was sad to be leaving but he couldn't help but feel more excited for his new start, hoping it would be as great as these past years have.
Update? Yes!
We're getting there! Jungkook will meets his hyungs soon and boy, is he in for a surprise.
