Jungkook eyed the kitchen door wairly, looking at it like it was about to come alive and eat him whole. He could hear the others talking among another happily and knew he would have to enter before one of them opened the door and exposed him, he sighed and gently pushed the door open only this time he knew what he was walking into.
"Ah, good morning little one! I was starting to think you'd gotten lost," Seokjin said while walking towards the table and setting down a plate of what appeared to be pancakes covered in golden syrup and whipped cream. "Come sit and eat. I made pancakes today, something simple." He continued on, motioning towards the empty chair at the table.
Jungkook hummed in understanding and quickly sat down, staring at the plate of pancakes before him. He liked pancakes and it wasn't often that he got to eat them, it was a change to the basic bowl of cereal or bacon that he would normally have back with Yoobin.
He hesitated slightly before slowly digging into the pancakes and his eyes widened slightly as the buttery taste invaded his taste buds and he forced himself to hold back the moan of satisfaction that threatended to slip. This continued for awhile until he suddenly felt cold fingers brush against his neck, stopping him mid bite as he jumped slightly from surprise.
Jungkook turned his head slightly and found Yoongi staring at him, the males hand stretched out slightly as his fingers dropped and toyed with the gem that danlged from the choker. "This is nice," he muttered, voice raspy and sounding tired, an indication that he had probably just woken up. Jungkook couldn't remember seeing the male when he first entered the kitchen and so he assumed the male hadn't been here for long.
As time trickled by Jungkook could feel his cheeks getting warm, struggling to contain the shivers each time he felt fingers brush against his skin. Yoongi's fingers were cold against his own warm skin but he didn't mind it, he welcomed the sensations the male left behind, odly comforted by them.
"Yoongi that's enough, eat your breakfast before it gets cold." Namjoon's voice rang out, startling Jungkook slightly. He watched as Yoongi listened and pulled away and quietly dug into his breakfast, the male seemed to block everything out as he ate, not batting an eyelash as the house leader continued talking, only this time he was talking to Jungkook.
"Since you're the youngest I thought it would be easier if you had the same schedule as Jimin and Taehyung, I'm sure the both of them will help you with anything you need. I know Taehyung wants to show you around," he paused and shot a quick glance to Taehyung, who was beaming excitedly.
"I want you to stick close to them Jungkook-ah, especially today. I know many houses will be curious once they find out we have a new member." He stood up and walked around the table, stopping once he reached Jungkook. He gave a dimpled smile and held out a piece of paper, which Jungkook eagerly grabbed.
He was glad he would have people he knew in some of his classes, although he still hoped Yugyeom shared some of the same classes too.
--
Jungkook hurriedly walked after Jimin and Taehyung, the latter holding onto his hand tightly even though he had stated that he didn't need anyone holding his hand Taehyung had chosen to ignore those protests and hold his hand anyway.
He had found out that he had his morning classes with Taehyung and his afternoon classes with Jimin, although they were both quick to inform him that they were both in his gym class. Even if they were somewhat annoying he was glad to have their company, he didn't want to be a complete loner.
As he walked he couldn't help but notice peoples shocked faces and hurried whispering as they spotted him, some even looked annoyed as they sent him glares for whatever reason.
"He's wearing the Bangtan unifrom." A boy whispered, pointing towards Jungkook with an odd look on his face. Jungkook rolled his eyes, this guy obviously knew how to make things obvious. "That can't be possible. The Bangtan house never have new members, they stick themselves and only talk among each other. Remember the time when someone tried touching the youngest? He was in the hospital wing for weeks!" His friend replied, causing Jungkook's eyes to widen.
Before he could dwell on it for any longer he was pushed into a classroom, Taehyung bidding goodbye to Jimin. Much to his excitement the first class of the morning was art, he vaguely remembered Jimin stating that he wasn't very good at art and instead chose music, which was his first morning class.
"Come on little one. The first to arrive always get the good seats," Taehyung said while dragging him to the back of the classroom, towards two seats that were near the window. He smiled a little, approving the males choice. Jungkook would have picked those seats as well, mainly because when you're sat at the back nobody really pays attention to you and that's exactly what he wanted.
Soon enough the classroom started filling up, some of the students sneaking glances at Jungkook and Taehyung as they passed and others were just being plain obvious about it. He rolled his eyes, already feeling annoyed as he heard the people in front start whispering about him. He was used to this, feeling stares on his back and hearing peoples whispers about him, he just hoped by coming here that he would be able to escape that. That was starting to prove difficult.
"You okay?" Taehyung asked, snapping him out of his thoughts as he nodded slowly. "Yeah, I'm fine. It's just, is it always going to be like this? Everyone looking at me like I'm an alien from another planet?" he asked quietly, fiddling with his fingers as he suddenly felt over come with nerves. He didn't know what had possessed him to let his thoughts out but there was something about the male that made Jungkook feel safe, like he could trust Taehyung. He would be lying if he said he didn't feel the same around the others, because he did.
Taehyung hummed quietly and Jungkook turned and looked at him, wondering what he was going to say. "It was the same for me when I joined. I was the last one for awhile, obviously not anymore. My first day was awkward, I stuck with Jimin until I got used to everything and everyone." he paused and reached over, giving a comforting squeeze to Jungkook's hand. "It doesn't really stop but soon everyone will settle, once it gets boring for them."
Jungkook smiled and was about to look away when another question popped into his head, suddenly remembering the welcoming from yesterday. "Is it because Bangtan is already in the lead for the house cup? What are the challenges anyway? He never really explained that." The question had been bugging him since yesterday, he understood everything but the challenges.
"That'll be discussed later in gym. You'll need to pay attention so don't tire yourself out," was all Taehyung said, leaving him more confused than he was before.
Update? Yes!
Next couple of chapters will be Jungkook learning more about everything and building relationships and bonds with his hyungs, and also making some friends here and there.
I also loved writing that Yoonkook moment, I have feeling I'll like writing about their bond the most.
I based the Bangtan uniform on these outfits;
