JUNGKOOK P.O.V.
Jungkook quietly walked besides Jaebeom who had offered to walk him towards the library, stating that he needed to return a book before it was too late. The two didn't speak but the silence wasn't uncomfortable and he eagerly welcomed it, he didn't really feel like having a conversation.
Instead his mind was focused on the conversation from this morning and he hoped the library would have something on soulmates, something that he had yet to know.
"Well, this is it. Do you want me to help you find what you're looking for or will you be okay?" Jaebeom questioned while opening the library door, both of them quietly walking in. He thought for a moment before shaking his head, if the older male knew what Jungkook was looking for he would probably find out that the younger was an unmarked.
"No, I think I'll be fine. Thank you for walking me hyung," he said politely before walking away, his eyes scanning around curiously as he tried to find where his answers may be. He stopped short as he came across a small section labelled named 'soulmate' and he decided to start here.
He curiously looked at the different books before one caught his eye. It was an old leather bound book which was tearing at the seams but Jungkook wasn't surprised, the book itself looked ancient. He gently grabbed the book before walking over towards one of the tables, taking a seat in one of the empty seats.
He quickly look around before opening the book, coughing quiet as dust particles flew into the air. He frowned slightly and started reading, his eyes scanning the words eagerly until something had him stopping in surprise.
'Soul bonding is extremely rare and only happens to those that are unmarked. It is where your soul is gradually tied and bonded to other halves, normally seven or less. It is much more different and more powerful than a regular soulmate bond, soul bonding allows each half to feel their other halves emotions or if they are in danger. You can do this with a normal soulmate bond but it is very weak and less useful compared to a soul bond. If one of the halves die then so do the rest, which is another thing that makes it different from a normal soulmate bond. There has only been three cases reported and because of that many people do not believe it is real, they believe it as myth. But trust me, it is very much real. Why? Because I am one of those three cases that was reported. . .'
Jungkook felt like he couldn't breath, there was a chance he wasn't alone? The bond that Namjoon mentioned, was this it? If that was the case that meant that the house members were unmarked once, just like he was.
'A soul bond takes awhile to form. The other halves will be able to feel it forming, it will call out to them and the call will get louder and much more stronger as the bond grows. A soul mark will also form on a place of the body, identical to those of the other halves. I recommend that you do not ignore the call of the bond and that you accept it as quick as you can, if you do not then I'm afraid that you are at risk of forever losing that bond and your chance of being truly happy. .'
He made a humming sound in the back of his throat, eyebrows furrowed as he turned the page and kept reading.
'If you reject the forming bond the pain you will go through will be excruciating but you won't go through it alone, the other halves will also experience the same pain. There's no saying that you will make through the pain, sometimes it is too much and the body gives out but there's been times where the pain has drove the mind insane. I believe the soul bonding was created for those of us who did not bare a mark on our sixteenth birthday, it is a chance for us to have the happiness we wouldn't have gotten because of our lack of soulmate mark. If you are reading this and are lucky enough to have a soul bond, please embrace it. . .'
He turned the page again as if in some kind of trance.
'I was extremely stubborn when I first found out about my forming bond with my other halves, I convinced myself I didn't deserve it and I avoided my halves like the plague. But you can only avoid and ignore for so long, because of my stubbornness I fell sick and the only thing that could save me was my other halves, they are important. I'm glad I accepted them, I truly did live a happy life. Accept your other halves, my friend.'
Jungkook didn't know what to feel or think but he was sure he didn't have a soul bond with anyone, he felt exactly the same. Maybe he was one of the unlucky ones, or maybe it really was just a myth. He sighed and stood from his seat, walking back towards the section to see if any of the other books had something about soul bonding.
His lips tugged down as he couldn't find anything else about it. Shrugging he walked back towards the table where he left the previous book but as he looked down at where he left it, it wasn't there. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, he was certain he had left it there.
Frowning he shrugged it off, maybe someone else had needed it and took it while he was looking at the other books. It hadn't fallen off the table and so that was his only reason for the book to not be where he had left it.
Jungkook sighed and looked at the clock, his eyes immediately widening as he saw the time. He was meant to have gone back to the dorms nearly two hours ago, meaning he was very late and probably missed dinner.
--
Jungkook rushed down the hall not caring with how much noise he was probably making, he needed to get to the dorm before they decided worrying about them. He slowed down to a jog as he realised he was nearly there, he really didn't want to burst through the door like a mad man.
He paused outside the familiar red door, suddenly feeling nervous. He took a deep breath before slowly opening the door and slipping inside, flinching as his eyes fell on everyone seated on the couch. He was hoping they would already be in their rooms for the night, he guessed luck wasn't on his side today.
"Jeon Jungkook where on earth have you been?"
