Soulmates are real.
Showed by tattoos that appear on someone's sixteenth birthday. All matched in size, colour, and location on their soulmate or in a rare case, soulmates. Sisters sharing matching butterflies on their wrists, two boys sharing a sp...
Jungkook quietly stepped into the library and as he did his eyes slowly swept towards the messy desk that stood off towards the left hand side, loose papers and books littered the desk and in some places it looked as if someone had tried organising the papers and books but had ultimately given up half way through. Behind the desk sat the librarian whose glasses sat askew as her head was tilted in an odd angle and if he wasn't able to hear the loud snoring coming from her, he would've been convinced that she was dead.
Come to think of it he hadn't seen the librarian when he first visited the library, he wasn't even sure if anyone worked in the library. "Maybe she just doesn't like her job very much," he muttered as he quietly walked past the desk, not wanting to risk waking the woman and having to face her, you never know how people deal with being woken up.
The library was fairly empty much to his relief. There were only about five students littering some of the tables, either with a book in front of them or with a pen in hand. He didn't pay them much attention as he walked passed, heading towards the section he visited on his first library trip. He hoped he would be able to find the previous book, although he still wasn't sure what had happened to it after it had disappeared.
Jungkook hummed to himself as he carefully looked at the different books lining the shelves, most of them being the same old guides to soulmates which held all the information people learned after their sixteenth birthday, although he only learned half of those things. Of course as he grew older he finally learnt some of the things his parents didn't bother to teach him, but he deemed them pretty useless as he was an unmarked, well used to be an unmarked.
He reached the end of the shelf and sighed in slight annoyance, there was no sight of the leather bound book anywhere. Maybe he really had lost it, or there was a slight possibility that someone had signed it out of the library. Either way, he was still annoyed that he wouldn't be getting his questions answered anytime soon. Frowning slightly he grabbed a random book and retreated to an empty table, it would give him an excuse to not return to the dorms just yet.
He placed his book down on the table and was about to take a seat but stopped shortly as a sharp pain spread throughout his body, taking him by surprise as a pained gasp left him as he hunched over, hoping that would help dim the pain a little. His hand gripped the edge of the table tightly as the pain only seemed to get worse, if felt like his entire body was on fire.
A whimper left his lips as he moved to lean against the table, afraid he wouldn't be able to keep himself up if the pain got any worse. He didn't understand what was happening and because of that he was starting to panic, he had never felt pain like this before. "Jungkook-ah?" a familiar voice had him looking up, his eyes falling onto Namjoon and Yoongi, who were both rushing towards him. To his surprised the pain dimmed slightly, enough for him to stand straight without wanting to kneel over.
"Are you okay little one?" Yoongi asked as he came to a stop in front of the younger, Namjoon not too far behind. Jungkook's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he looked at the two males, the pain dissolving into a dull throbbing. "Yeah, I'm fine. But, why are you here?" he questioned, confused as to why two of his house members were now standing in front of him, he was careful to avoid any of them while walking to the library.
"We felt it," Yoongi stated plainly as his eyes swiped over the younger, almost as if scanning for any injuries. Namjoon sighed and placed his hand on Yoongi's shoulder, tugging the male back slightly. "What he meant is that we could feel how distressed you were through the bond, the others probably felt it too so we should probably hurry up before they come looking."
The younger felt his eyes widen ever so slightly, were they able to feel his emotions through the bond? He sighed and absentmindedly tugged his blazer sleeves down, thinking back to the mark on his wrist. He jumped slightly when he felt a hand come to rest on his shoulder, "come on little one." Namjoon muttered before he turned and started walking away.

"So last class I said that we would be starting the basics of knife combat so that's what we'll be doing," Minho, the gym teacher, says as he stood behind a table that was filled with sharp looking knifes. Jungkook eyed the knife closet to him, the handle was covered in black leather and the blade was wide but rather short, he wasn't sure what type it was. "In front of me I have laid out the different knives that will be available for use during the challenge and I know some of the older ones may have already noticed, there are some new knives that we haven't worked with before."
He looked up in time to see Jimin and Taehyung whispering to one another, the latter pointing to various knives as they continued to whisper. He was quick to look away as the two males conversation stopped, not willing to risk being caught. It had been awkward enough yesterday when he finally arrived back at the dorms, Jimin and Taehyung had been one of the first to crowd around him, both saying things about the bond and distress. He was torn in what to believe.
"Each knife is different to the person wielding it," the teacher speaking again is what snapped him out of his thoughts, much to his relief. He watched as the teacher picked up a knife, it was pure black and shaped oddly like the letter T. "This is one of the newest knives this year, it's most commonly called a push knife or fist knife. It's typically a short knife and has similar designs to the letter T, as I'm sure you can all see." he paused and grasped the knife by the handle, "it's specially designed to be grasped in the hand so that the blade is pointing forward, typically emerging from between the second and third fingers."
"That knife isn't even a fighting knife!" someone called from behind Jungkook, causing him to jump from surprise. The teacher chuckled and shook his head, "you're wrong. It's true that it was designed to be used just for stabbing from behind rather than fighting but if used correctly then it could do some damage from the front." Jungkook hummed quietly while eyeing the knife, it didn't seem all too complicated to use.
The knife was placed down and replaced with another knife, this time bigger. "This knife isn't new, we always make sure to have a classic knife available. The fixation bowie can be used by anyone if given the right training and knowledge, the is one of the finest knives we have. Great balance and proportion make these knives very agile, it's easier to use if you have great balance and are quick on your feet."
Again the knife was replaced with another one, Jungkook eyes widened once he saw the blade. "The knife doesn't really have a fancy name and is usually sold as a hunter knife but under further research we've decided it's a pretty good fighting knife too. It has one of the biggest blade lengths here, so keep that in mind if you want to train with it."
This went on for awhile, the teacher picking knives up and explaining them to the students. Jungkook couldn't help but feel surprised by how many knives there actually were and he soon found out that he would have to pick two of these knives to train with and eventually get the hang of before the challenges started, he was slowly starting to lose his newfound confidence.
Update? Yes!
Honestly, I really hope no one ever sees my google search history as I spent nearly two hours searching for different knives and their uses.
Upcoming updates might be a little slower as it was my birthday today and my family have decided to celebrate it next week instead, so if I disappear for awhile that's why, I promise I haven't abandoned this story!
In the meantime, enjoy this gif of Jungkook that I've watched way too much.
