JUNGKOOK P.O.V.

Jungkook was pleased to find out that Felix was in his art class which made him glad that he had someone to sit and talk too, refusing to go back to his normal place with Taehyung. He couldn't help but feel awkward as he sat next to his friend, barley listening to what Felix was saying as he caught gazes with Taehyung, who was frowning.

"Jungkook?" he snapped back into reality as his name was called out and he looked at Felix apologetically, knowing he had zoned out again. "Seriously, why don't you guys just make up already? He's been staring at you since class started," Felix sighed out as he glanced at Taehyung, who had thankfully looked away by then. Jungkook had told both Yugyeom and Felix about his falling out with his house members, making up some weird story so he wouldn't have to tell them the exact truth.

He sighed and shook his head, "I've told you, it isn't that simple. If it was simple I would be sitting with him right now, no offence to you." Felix laughed and shook his head while grabbing a piece of sketching paper and placing it in front of Jungkook, who now looked confused. "Of course, you didn't listen to the teacher. Anyways, she said that today we'll be drawing our seating partner."

Jungkook nodded at that and grabbed a pencil before turning around in his seat and focusing his attention on his friend, his eyes scanning the males features carefully as he didn't want to mess up the portrait. He had been doing fairly well in his art classes and most of his work had gotten the approval from the teacher but he was certain that this portrait wouldn't be very good, he had always struggled with drawing things like that.

He shook his head and focused on sketching out the outlines of what he hoped would eventually shape up to look somewhat like Felix, but his expectations weren't all that high.

--

Jungkook stood in the lunch line with Yugyeom and Felix, both males fussing over his finished drawing of Felix. The teacher had given them permission to keep their drawings after she had graded them and he had decided to give the drawing to Felix, since it was a portrait of his friend after all. He had managed to get a surprisingly good grade, it wasn't his best but it was still good enough for him.

"Seriously, how can you draw like this? I can barely draw a straight line," Yugyeom complained as he handed the piece of paper back to Felix, who was quick to fold it and place it inside his pocket, not wanting to risk losing it. Jungkook playfully rolled his eyes as he walked forward, the line now moving pretty fast. He had come to realise that there were some edible items that the school made which he was practically living off since he refused to eat with his house members, always making up an excuse as to why he couldn't.

"You guys are so dramatic. It's only a few lines," he muttered and grabbed a plastic wrapped sandwich, one of the only foods that didn't look like it had been made years ago. "A few lines look nowhere near as detailed," he heard Yugyeom mutter and he shook his head, smiling at the woman in charge of today's lunch. Once finished he waited patiently for the other two, who were now bickering with one another about who knows what.

His eyes fell onto his usual table and he wasn't surprised at seeing both Jimin and Taehyung sat there, both of them already looking back at him. He felt bad at how miserable they both looked but he needed them to realise that he wasn't their last soulmate, even if he did have a soulmate mark now. Biting his lip he pushed down the feelings of guilt and looked away, following after his friends.

--

"Are you okay, Jungkook? You've hardly touched your sandwich," Yugyeom broke the silence, eyeing the male across from him who had been staring blankly at the table for a good few minutes, his food going untouched. It was just them now, Felix having left to join some of house members who had finally finished their morning classes.

Jungkook snapped out of his thoughts and looked up startled, quickly meeting Yugyeom's eyes. He smiled and nodded slowly, hoping that it would be believable. His thoughts had drifted yet again to the mark on his wrist, he wondered how he had gotten it, how it was even possible for it to be there. Then he remembered his night in the library, where he had spent hours reading from that strange old book, where he learnt about soul bonding.

He sighed quietly, "actually, I read something the other day. Something about soul bonding? It's been stuck in my head the entire day," he knew he had to be careful about this, he couldn't let out too much information. Yugyeom's eyebrows furrowed while his expression morphed into something like confusion, "soul bonding?" Jungkook nodded eagerly, hoping the male would have some new information that he hadn't yet known.

"Well, I haven't heard much about it but I know many people believe its a myth, mostly for those unmarked. I know that there's been at least one case of so called soul bonding, but there's no solid proof to prove it actually happened," Yugyeom paused and he listened intently to his friends words, even leaning forward slightly. "But, I think its real. Surely the ancestors wouldn't leave people without a soulmate, everyone should have one."

Jungkook couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped him as he thought over the words, maybe his friend was right. Maybe the ancestors decided that not everyone should be greeted with a soulmate when they turned sixteen, maybe they had created a game, and he had been unlucky enough to have to play it.

He sighed and nodded, finally picking his sandwich up and taking a bite, not realising how hungry he had gotten as the day progressed. While doing so, he was also planning another trip to the library after his last lesson, thankful he remembered where it was from last time.
