Assisted suicide, also known as assisted dying, is suicide undertaken with the aid of another person. The term usually refers to physician-assisted suicide (PAS), which is suicide that is assisted by a physician or other healthcare provider. Once it is determined that the person's situation qualifies under the physician-assisted suicide laws for that place, the physician's assistance is usually limited to writing a prescription for a lethal dose of drugs.
Physician-assisted suicide is legal in some countries, under certain circumstances, including Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Colombia, Switzerland, and parts of the United States and Australia (Victoria). In most of those states or countries, to qualify for legal assistance, individuals who seek a physician-assisted suicide must meet certain criteria, including having a terminal illness, proving they are of sound mind, voluntarily and repeatedly expressing their wish to die, and taking a specified, lethal dose of drugs themselves.

I kept walking down the hallway, back and forth in front of my husband.
"Anrie i'm getting dizzy. Can you just sit down for a bit?"
"I need to walk so the baby descends faster and my cervix can dilate faster this way! I don't want to prolong my labor!" Inis na inis ako sa asawa ko.
I was told that I was 2 cm dilated and it was still ok for me to move around. They gave me an exercise ball but I preferred walking.
The contractions are now longer and the intervals are shorter. I must be a 5 or 6 now.
"Raven!" Oh damn that hurts.
"Just a little bit more, dear. I can see the head." The doctor told me. My husband was by my side, holding my hand and wiping the sweat from my forehead.
"Dylan's almost out, sweetheart. A little bit more pushing and our son's here. You can do it." He kissed my forehead before I inhaled deeply and pushed together with the contraction with all of my might.
A loud resounding cry of a little child echoed in the room.
"Baby boy out, 02:43 am. Congratulations, Dr. Anrie Liu. You're now a mom." Clare smiled at me, showing me the bloody baby in her hands. "Mr. Liu, please do the honor of cutting the cord."
My husband cut the umbilical cord. After that, they took the baby to the side so they could clean him and my husband followed suit.
"Hi there my Dylan. I love you." I held him close to my chest as my husband kissed my forehead and supported my hand that's holding our baby.
"I love you both. Thank you for giving me this beautiful little boy, Anrie."

"Come here, buddy... That's it, walk towards daddy..."
My son is still shaky on his feet but my husband is very determined to have him walking around the house before his first birthday.
