Focused assessment with sonography in trauma (commonly abbreviated as FAST) is a rapid bedside ultrasound examination performed by surgeons, emergency physicians, and certain paramedics as a screening test for blood around the heart (pericardial effusion) or abdominal organs (hemoperitoneum) after trauma.
The four classic areas that are examined for free fluid are the perihepatic space (including Morison's pouch or the hepatorenal recess), perisplenic space, pericardium, and the pelvis. With this technique it is possible to identify the presence of intraperitoneal or pericardial free fluid. In the context of traumatic injury, this fluid will usually be due to bleeding.

I'm retiring in three years. Senior citizen na ako, anak wala ka pa ring pinapakitang apo sa akin. What will I do at home then? Makipag-usap sa aso ko?" Pinanlakihan niya ako nang mata.
Napahilamos ako sa mukha ko saka nagbukas ng refrigerator. I took a swig of cold water before facing my annoying mother. "You want an instant apo? I'll give you one. His name is Dylan. But I'll need your help." I told her seriously.
"Ugh! Finally! Tinubuan ka ng utak sa wakas, anak."
"Mom!" My mom is just so ... savage! Wala talagang filter minsan kaya nakakairita pero hindi siya sinungaling. If she says you are stupid, it is a fact. And if she compliments you, it is very true.
"What? It's a fact! I never realized how stupid you could be until you let go of that girl! Eh di ano ka ngayon? Naghahabol? Kung di ka ba naman kasi isa't kalahating tanga, Terrence. " She smirked at me.
"Hindi ko alam kung matutuwa ako sa plano mo o maaawa ako sa'yo, anak. Mahirap kalabanin si Raven, kahit pa patay na siya. She's her son's father and he will always be a reminder of his dad. Kaya mo bang panindigan na maging tatay ng batang hindi sayo? Raven was a good man, a good father. Are you worthy to stand in his place?" I took another swig from the bottle while contemplating on an answer.
