Rashad.
After School.

School had let out about fifteen minutes ago, and although I didn't have anywhere to be, I didn't want to still be sitting on this damn campus. I was waiting on Cam, and I didn't mind giving her rides, but it was shit like this that made me wish her car was fixed already.

I was lowkey starving.

"Cam! Bring yo ass on, dawg." I yelled, interrupting her conversation with a friend of hers that I recognized as Alexis, and she sucked her teeth.

"Alright Shad, damn." She huffed, giving me a look. "Bye Lex." She finally said bye to her friend and walked my way. "You need to chill out, forreal. It was never that serious."

"Whatever, man." I brushed her off as I unlocked the car and got in. She can call herself having an attitude with me if she wants to. I don't care. I can vouch and say nobody wants to spend several hours a day in school and still be hanging around afterward.

Once she was in the car, I brought the engine to life. Moments later, I pulled out of the student parking lot and headed in the direction of her house. As usual, traffic was picking up as schools were being let out and people were getting off work. However, this was only indication that this ride was going to be longer than I wanted it to be.

And long it was. Not only was there an accident that slowed us down, but it was awkwardly silent and that made all the sounds of the outside seemingly louder.

When I pulled up to her house, about thirty minutes had gone by. But I was grateful, I couldn't deal with her attitude any longer.

She gathered her things in a hurried manner, making it clear that she was indeed mad. When she opened the door, I chuckled lightly.

"See you tomorrow, Cam." I smiled sarcastically as she got out of the car, but she didn't say anything back. She just slammed my door and headed for the front door.

I laughed and pulled off after she was inside. I don't have time for it. I was about to slide by the mall and grab some new stuff. It was a random decision I made on the deafening ride over to Cam's, but it was a decent opportunity to pass time.

Considering that it was a Monday, and it's about 4:15 now, I figured the mall wouldn't be too packed once I arrived. And like the idiot I was, I got back on the freeway and was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for at least thirty minutes. Bullshit.

It was minutes to five when I finally pulled into the semi-crowded parking lot. LA traffic is ridiculous. I found a decent enough space and made sure I had my phone and wallet before heading inside.

My first stop was the Levi store. I was in dire need of new jeans – or so I thought. My style was constantly evolving, and I stopped liking some of my clothing unexpectedly all the time. The one thing I could say I loved, however, were joggers. I owned multiple pairs and I had no shame about it.

Once inside the store, I headed straight for the men's section and began sifting through their newest arrivals. Before I knew it, I was holding three pairs of pants. They were plain, but that was fine. As I scoured the shelves for another pair of pants, I could hear a voice getting closer and closer until I couldn't ignore it any longer.

I happened to look up as someone cleared their throat, loudly might I add. "Yeah?"

There was a female standing there, she was much shorter than I, so I had to look down.

"I'm trying to get around you." Her voice was laced with attitude and that was a no go for me. Especially after dealing with Cam.

As childish as it was, I looked around and then back at her. Neither of us were bigger than a twig, so I knew my ass couldn't have truly been in her way. But now wasn't the time for bullshit, so I simply sidestepped and let her by.
