After the weekend I spent alone, I went to work on Monday. Mr Reed had said nothing about being fired and I wanted to show him that I wasn't just an eighteen year old governed by my feelings and can't be professional."Good morning Mr Reed." I greeted him as he cane to work, he still looked annoyed but also tired. He didn't say anything to me so I took that as a good sign and sat down at my desk.
I have decided to focus getting my job back for now, adult relationships seem too complex.
"Addy?" James walked over to my desk, "do you work here?" He asked me, I nodded "why are you here today?" James looked over to his manager to answer for him "Freddy is going over some concept art for his new album." He said still in a monotone voice.
"Yeah that's it, are you a graphic designer here? You always wanted to do that, I was upset that you were doing a degree in finance instead but this must've been why you went to England." I politely nodded.
"I'm still an intern though." I scratched the back of my head, "it's still cool though, I always knew that you were more mature than me even though I'm a year older but it still feels weird to see you grown up."
Grown up... I guess I look like that, we've both aged ...
Before I could respond Mr Reed opened his office door, "Mr Reed!" I turned to him shocked at his sudden appearance. "Mr Vale, do you want to start our meeting now?" He asked with authority. "Sure but I have one request." James asked, "I want Addison to work on this project aswell." I looked at him shocked, mouthing 'what are you doing!'
Me Reed sighed "Addison is just an intern, she doesn't know how to be a part of a project." James smiled at Ezra "then she can learn now, besides I trust her, we've worked together before." James left, walking over to the meeting room.
Mr Reed grabbed my wrist lightly "how do you know him?" He asked, I frowned at him "are you talking to me now? I thought that you wanted nothing to do with a murderer." I pulled away from his grasp and walked over to where James and his manager were.
"We were thinking of using a more softer rustic feel to compliment your album." Lyn told James as she handed him some drafts, it was so cool seeing Lyn act like an adult and be professional.
"Hmm, what do you think Addy, I mean Addison?" Everyone turned to face me as James said my name.
"I don't know that much, but what if you put your own twist in the artwork, all the drafts are beautiful but remember the lights at the club. What if you added that luminously to the art, it will make your fans feel closer to you knowing your past." I grabbed a drawing tablet and quickly drew up a simple sketch of my idea.
James smiled and Lyn agreed that it seemed to be a good idea, after the meeting ended Ezra called me into his office.
"How do you know Freddy?" He asked me again, I rolled my eyes and took a seat opposite his desk. "I happened to know him back six years ago ... and we kind of dated, and he might be the same ex boyfriend that cheated on me." His eyes widened, somehow catching the last part that I muttered.
"He might've done all those things to me in the past, but atleast he believes in me. You've just pushed me behind a desk without even letting me work on a project like other interns do." I exclaimed.
He huffed "we shouldn't talk about this anymore, I'll let you work on this project but don't expect anything else." I got up and left.
Fine, be that way, if you don't believe me then I want nothing to do with you either.
Lyn and Kelton were waiting for me at my desk, "what was that all about?" I sighed "I don't even know, we got in a fight the other day and now he's staying somewhere else, but atleast now he's knows that I used to date James or 'Freddy Vale'"
They both looked at me disappointed "so that plan you had didn't even last a week." I shook my head "I guess not" I pouted.
"Addy!" James walked over to my desk once again, "I know you probably don't want to, but I have some free time now do you wanna grab something to eat?" Lyn threw her puppy eyes in my face. I sighed "sure, but can my friends come too?" He nodded and we all left to get something to eat.
